Digital River just cancelled my order!!

Happy we ordered through Amazon as well.

Wonder if maybe someone there pulled this as they themselves wanted a copy or have a friend who does and you were the unlucky one to get screwed over.

my friend got completely screwed by Game, the only copy he'd ordered got cancelled 'at his request' apparently. And then when he responded to the confirmation email to state he had not placed the cancellation, all they could say was 'oh, well, unfortunately this item is no longer available for preorder due to heavy demand.'

So he's screwed right out of his reserved copy.

Digital River is the company SE uses to run the SE store?

After seeing this, I went onto DR and looked up my order and put in a support ticket telling them that I am aware that I have Physical CE and Digital Copy on the same credit card and DO NOT cancel my CE Physical copy just because they feel it needed. I referenced this post. I hope the OP gets his CE edition that he ordered, honestly, Yoshi P should give this guy a signed copy if they screw him over here. I know I will raise holy hell if they pull that crap on me.

I pre ordered physical PC collector's edition along with the PS3 download regular and they have both been shipped, from the same paypal acct so their excuse is BS. Hope you get it worked out with DR, it sounds to me like human error issue.

Edit; I'm a Legacy/CE person and ordered the CE for the same reason the OP did. Cancelling my CE pre order would hurt, so I get it, I really really hope it works out for the OP.

Unfortunately, the SE store is the only place you were able to get the physical pc CE, Amazon everything but...

Hope you get it back. I pre-ordered 2 CE off the square enix store, but everything seems to be find for now. Got the emailed that it shipped and both of them appears on the credit card.

The first thing I would be doing is seeking legal advice to find out where you stand on this situation because as someone mentioned before, they have to contact you before cancelling anything. Game or not they have done the wrong thing by you and if you let them get away with it then they are free to do it to everyone else and tell them you are going to be seeking legal advice, that will scare the crap out of them.

I'm not sure things will get that far, but I'm sure they will state, "Since the credit card was NOT charged back in may, they really don't owe you anything"
