From someone who isn't a fan of Final Fantasy series.

I've played every Final Fantasy including spinoffs, some multiple times, XI for 6+ years

how am I not a fan of the series at this point?

anyways, on topic, would it be so bad to make things less convoluted and just combine the jobs and classes? It's all a bit unnecessary right now. :confused:

Because all these your friends don't know FFXIV... maybe You can answer to them... like a real Fan of FFXIV that follow every news like us, White Knights :D

Final Fantasy series do have the job system, FF7-9 games are very difficult to explain but let's look at FF7...

Cloud is like a warrior, Tifa is a monk, Aeris is a white mage, Vinect is a gunner, Cid is a dragoon, etc...

Why should not FFXIV?

I'm talking about how you start off as a class and turn into the job later and can 'unequip' your job and go between job/class is what needs to be removed, its too convoluted and pointless

Well, if that's what you are looking for and no one here seems to agree with you. I don't think it's going to happen. Sure, it can confuse to new players but they will get used to it as long as they can enjoy the game whether they understand vocabs or not. It's like we are learning. You said you have played FFXI for 6 years and you must know that SE almost never change the game for us.

That's fine if you want to just keep playing and 'just deal with it' but I think SE wants to get a larger audience than just the hardcore fans who will just 'deal with it'/'get used to it'

so if something is stupid, convoluted, and confusing and serves no purpose, I think they SHOULD consider changing it . I know for a fact the job system in place will lose them customers.

maybe I would agree with you about 'getting used to it', if it ended up being a good system once you understand it.. but that's not the case... it's a bad system
