Do you think 1.0 was shut down prematurely?

When 1.0 servers shutdown, all over the world there was a great sigh of relief, as if an arduous task has been completed.

Yes i liked the game, and yes i think FFXI 1.0 was shut down no sooner or later than needed. Considering what is being done, time is needed... truth be told i was expecting shut down a lot sooner then November...

Yes they did something right, they made the greatest online game I have played in 10+ years.
I really have no choice but to be patient lol. 4 months down, 4ish to go. Q_Q

I really enjoyed it, but I have to admit by the end the only thing I was doing really was crafting/dol and that was a bit tiresome.

The main thing that makes the game fun for me was all the friends I'd made, they are always the #1 reason I play because friends make everything awesome.... but people stopped logging in a bit closer to the end of 1.0 and so really I was stuck on my own just waiting for folks to log in D:. Everyone knew the end was coming so their thoughts were like "Why bother?"; ;. Flad it got shut down thugh, was kinda pointless to play with no character saves anyway ^^;

The 1.0 client always did like to shutdown premat[FINAL FANTASY XIV has stopped working.]


1.0 just had so much they had to undo. Sometimes its easier to start over than try to modify an existing program. To be honest I'm surprised it was up for as long as it was. They were at least able to provide us with a decent story as to why it was closed down.

It was fun while it lasted, but the overhaul is needed and will be here soon. :)
