A mounts matter

Yeah you clearly don't read what anyone says. Not only are those things I never said, those are things I agree with.

I'd tell you to go back and actually read what I said and hope that through some sort of modern miracle you gain enough sense out of it to at least go "oh I see what you mean now" but I don't count on that ever happening, so continue swimming in your delusions.

A tonberry mount would solve all these problems.

Easy design, small, and looks awesome. Simplicity at it's best.

Of course it would be lalafel only, cause our awesomeness deserves attention.

That is what you say in the first post (which gives Warlock his point), but to be fair you do change your tone later on.

I can assure you from my own programming experience that all of those variables I listed can be calculated from the variables they already have going on. (Turn radius in relation was my most complex recommendation and you can just calculate the angle change from state a facing direction to state b facing direction, and then have some basic comparison to decide what to do next).

But I cant say how easy it would be to add them to all mounts if they stored the mounts under special storage type that cant be expanded without being replaced.

All in all, "how hard it would be" could be a few hours from one programmer to many days or weeks of a small team - so.. its a unknown factor and shutting someone down on that reason is pretty bad.

Another reason to have this system. can have really funny mounts with their natural style - cause I'd desub if I saw a tonberry permanently run at chocobo speed and wasnt a temporary gag mount. Yoshida gone crazy then lol.

Tiny variables or not, it doesn't matter. Neither you nor myself are on the development team. In the sense that I cannot say this will be difficult to implement, you cannot say it would be easy to implement.

What is definitely true, however, is the concept of opportunity cost and this has been in effect since the beginning of time. Yoshida has even brought up the issues with production costs in many of his letters and in responses to peoples' ideas. It's not like I'm speaking of some fairy tale.

My issue on this matter is, to put simply:

1) I do not agree with the system and feel it is completely unnecessary for the reasons I said in my first couple of posts.

2) There are much more important things to be worried about right now. If the idea is to be executed, it should be done way down the line from now.

I find it laughable how I am 90% positive you read only the first one or two lines of my posts and then make some stupid reply completely irrelevant to what I was talking about. Actually in this case you didn't even read the first line you SOMEHOW leaped over the first line and landed on the second sentence. Did you use one of these special mounts talked about in the OP to do that?

Mounts should be craft-able... but I'm ready for anything! I'm ready to be annoyed for what comes my way, for the people with silly mounts that didn't take any effort to get! I mean, the FFXIV DEVs are wasting time and resources for this kiddy crap when they can develop on lore, story, new jobs/classes(go beastmaster!) and armor/weapons.

...now alpha tester making the beta for PS3 get pushed back... this beetter be good... and worth the wait.

Sooo it's only a waste of dev time if you disagree with it? That sounds fair! I agree with the OP's ideas but also agree it can come at a later date whenever SE has people to devote to this project.

Craftable mounts would actually be pretty cool - beyond crafting macro 'mounts' like airships and boats. I think Yoshida talked about the possibility of parts for the Magiteck, that could be some crafting. Also stealing blueprints from those other tech. advance cultures (some ancient).

That said I was pretty surprised myself when we were first told about the mounts. . I was pretty happy with just Chocobo content. However if we must have more then chocobo content then at least feature it, not some vapor content.
