I think he was being sarcastic, mate.

We already have Lalafell for our pies, we don't need another edible race.
However here is my recipe for Granny Peaches Eorzean Viera Pie:
Ingredients
2 whole Viera, cut into sections
2 medium salt leeks or wild onions, sliced
12 button mushrooms
3 Coerthas Carrot sliced (optional)
4 cups chicken stock
Bouquet garni
Sunset wheat flour to thicken
4 rashers of Lalafell bacon, unsmoked and diced (use moogle bacon if you can find it and its a full moon)
Olive oil
Popoto puff pastry (or your own favourite pastry)
1 chicken egg for glaze
Table salt and ground black pepper
Method: How to make Granny Peaches Eorzean Viera Pie
1) Heat oil in a large sauté pan and fry the leeks, carrots, mushrooms and bacon until cooked, drain off and transfer into the casserole dish.
2) Put the pan back on the heat and when hot add the Viera and fry until sealed/browned then add into the casserole dish.
3) Put the pan back on the heat, add the stock and bring to boil to deglaze the pan.
4) Sprinkle on the gravy, salt and add into the casserole dish.
5) Cook in a preheated hot oven for one and a half to two hours or until tender.
6) Remove from oven and using a slotted spoon remove the Viera onto a dish to cool (this should only take a few minutes), when cool remove meat from the bones.
7) Bring the cooking liquor back to the boil and thicken using Sunset wheatflour and water to coat the back of a spoon consistency.
8) Check and adjust seasoning, stir meat in, then spoon it out with the other main ingredients and drain well.
9) Sieve the gravy to separate any other filling (add to main) and provide a smooth gravy, and add enough to the main mix so that it is not too sloppy. Keep the remaining gravy to pour over later.
10) When the filling has cooled slightly, roll out pastry to cover the pie ensuring that you stick a strip of scrap pastry all the way round the rim of the dish to give to lid something to adhere to. Brush with egg wash.
11) Cook in oven for about 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Mmmmm yummy!
Edit: here is a link to my Lalafell Pie recipie....I think.

I... I just had to... click.
Oh just a word of warning, you probably don't want to watch this at work, the show is pretty random.
Hrm... Yoshida's quote there is... Interesting, actually.
I had noticed a DISTINCT difference between the enlightened races and the beastmen, at least as far as their artstyle goes.
You notice how all non-beastmen are, essentially, still recognizably human? Yet the beastmen are animalistic and borderline feral... Addition of a race with animalistic features seem like... Entering beastman territorry.
And i'm fairly sure SE's excellent storytelling will have to have a finger that, now i'm... Curious. (i'm much in favor of scales over anything else by the way).
Also Soukyuu I- Have you ever played XII? I don't know how you can have that image of them- They ALWAYS passed to me the same image as tolkien elves. Just with lapine ears instead of bike handlebars.
New races: They make them, I roll them.
8 characters per server, currently only 5 races. That's 3 races they can provide for me still to roll if I chose one race per character, and I will definately roll alts on other servers (gotta have a character or 8 on the RP server...)
Hey I'd Playboy bunnies (Lollllll see what I did there?)
What have the forums become?
