I get the vibe that from the responces so far that i should say that not every Ghostly encounter has to end in Adventurers soiling themselves in fear. It could be as simple as a specter appearing in a chair at a certain time and then fading away. The sort of thing that could make you stop and say "I've come here many times and never seen that before"
