I also think the coerthas theme is the best track from 1.0, hoping that it stays around for 2.0 in some capacity

Oh no.... so that means... no more "On Windy Meadows" anymore??? ; ;
I absolutely adore that BGM!!!!! ; ;
This is just my opinion and my personal taste but I preferred Nobuo Uematsu's compositions over those of Soken. I understand that this does not match the tastes of the younger generation but to me Uematsu's scores had more of a Final Fantasy feel to them. I also understand that the music composed by Soken will be tailored to the new world that is Eorzea but I will miss a number of the tracks that were in 1.0. I would still be grateful to SE if they made these tracks available to us before they are lost forever.
I'm sure much more music than we think will be reused in 2.0 than we think. Only time will tell tho. I will say, for the record, the music made the FFXIV that I know and love and it truly would just suck if all/most/some of that music didn't survive into 2.0.
I only hope the INN track will remain because is PERFECT. But also other Uematsu tracks should remain in ARR somewhere.. it would be a real pity.
^I agree, most specifically with the INN music. It was truly awesome to log on and hear that music as I was waiting for the game to load on my first login of the day. Was truly something I don't think any other game will ever be able to recreate for me.
So long as the older music isn't getting completely nixed, I'm fine with them arranging or placing the music in it's proper setting. I'm all for the music to match certain parts of a zone, like what Soken has planned. There's just no reason to get rid of stuff like Twilight over Thanalan or the Coerthas theme. Also keep Coertha's and La Noscea's battle themes. Maybe as NM songs or something, but they should stay.
