FFXIV's user interface is ugly....

FFXII's UI was indeed very nice.... even more FFXII really felt like a mmo but offline.... :)

I hate the UI, it is easy to mod, but sadly every patch will cause you to redo it haha so gets tedious.

When they stop doing the mini patches you will see a lot of custom UI mods.

I think you should at least be able to change the color. Some FFs allowed you to do that. ^^

Yes color would be a good start.... i'd go for something like a light blue or light grey :D

The menu ui is ok but one minor issue's for me is when looking at items and stats, its list looks so small.

Hold on I'll contact the programmers to re-make it for you.

MMOs are complicated :P

Well, there are a couple of things they did do good with on the interface.

One is the mini map, being able to notice mobs in general and tunnels ahead of you is a plus.

Second is the buff/debuff duration timers for yourself. A godsend if you know you need to do something coming up.

After it's party player buff/debuffs. Nice to know who has what. The only thing I would change would be to remove the gear wear icon from that list, during battles it's a bit unnecessary to look at. You could keep it present in your own status window as a heads up otherwise.
