I like the Distant Worlds version of Answers much better than the original. For some reason I just don't like the rock riffs as much in the original version. Great song either way, just one appeals to me more than the other.

Yeah, I'm not arguing.. Maybe not the style for me for XIV, but sure as hell I'd love that kinda feel, depth and talent to be added..

I'd hate it too if I spent the vast majority of my time there like most folk. I've always kinda existed in LL, with its Gurren Lagann-ish BGM.

Probably has something to do with hearing it so much since if you're not out doing something, you're probably standing around there. Personally, I feel the song fits the theme of a city in the middle of a desert just fine.

Uldah theme is "ok" but it does not match the "theme of the city" i wish the immortal flames theme will be the permanent theme in uldah

Idk, when I played XI I could listen to San d Orias bag pipes, bastok, and windurst music all day. It just feels like theres some soul missing. Or nostalgia!

Soken is currently tied with the composer of Shadows of the Colossus for best video game music in my heart.

Personally I like the music from 1.0, even the battle music. My only problem was that I felt some of the music didn't fit the areas/events that they were placed with. As for XI, meh, I like the game, still play it even, but found most of the music below standard. Too generic sounding for my own taste, but as you said, to each their own.

Fast-paced music like this has been a staple right from the start of the FF series, so how can OP say its not 'final fantasy like'??

At least we don't have this, its okay for FFXIII-2 though!
