I am not addicted to FFXIV, I just love everything about FFXIV. The Lalafells, The landscape, The Miqo'te's, and don't forget about the Chocobos!!!

Grown-up life stuff, "young blood"! You're going 2 want a lot out of life but you have to work for it because no one is going to carry about on their shoulders(unless your female then, go gold-digging for the right man) lol!

I'm female, 23 years old, and my family is in Cali while I'm alone in Michigan. lol I'm single and making a good living, and that comes with a lot of stress. I do play FFXIV a lot and that does help take care of the stress, but I can never become lost in it or I will end up on the streets. Other than playing the game, occassionally I will go with some girlfriends out to drink or mingle :P FFXIV shouldn't be the only thing going for you, but see it as a way to help you get through tough situations and to keep you away from drugs. lol

I enjoy the game as much as you. But if you could balance real life with fantasy life mom might not had to step in, so it sounds like your mom is doing what loving mothers do. Once you're back try to have an active real life. Coming from a 37 year old. Life is real, final fantasy is just that a fantasy.
