a legendary player is someone who does unbelievable shit under unbelievable circumstances. it doesn't necessarily have to be the best geared player either

Nope...i haven't seen anyone beat Rivenroad(hard) wearing nothing but thighboots. I have seen a bunch of lucky dogs though.

When he actually used to play the game.

Anyone who has a full time job like nursing or a doctor and still has time to play is legendary in my book.

Someone who is unemployed, can play all day, and hence get all the best gear is not legendary.

I know someone who has achieved legendary status...

For being the only one to come out of Ifrit's Bowl of Embers dead on several occasions...

Because he fell asleep during the fight each time.

He was indeed intimidating to come across. I ran into him often in Besieged. And yes, Remora for life.

If you consider achievements, then I would have to say Peace Mayoineko from Masamune would be legendary. Click here to see his achievement tracker. He is only missing a few of the 'long term' achievements like 5/10k leves, currency, behests and such (note there is a bug with the lodestone that Hamlet acheivements don't display there so they can't be tracked)

There's too much botting in this game for me to feel comfy admiring someone based on their achievements alone. However, I have seen some players do some amazing things. And anyone who's stuck with this game as long as we have will be legendary after a while. :D
