It feels to me like the devs are trying to get casual players to engage with the harder content and become hardcore players. Which, no, that’s certainly not going to entice me. I’ve considered getting into harder content but the culture of hardcore players turns me off, so I would do it in a single player game but not in a multiplayer one. More generally, casual players are casual for a reason, and I don’t expect they’ll pull many into the hardcore side.

How do you make it worse than before....?!?!?

Variant dungeons are my favorite content, and they managed to screw it up too.

And the biggest problem that even hardcore players don't want to do this content because there is 0 rewards for them too. 0 weapons, 0 gear, 0 upgrades and the mounts can be bought from the market board for 20 mil gil which is nothing. 20 mil gil is absolutely nothing for any player who knows how to make money in this game. How did we go from peak rewards in chaotic that people still play every day, to this and quantum? This is so sad... No one is gonna do it just for fun, when there's a lot of other content that is just as fun if not more and also rewards you...

They're innovating new ways to disappoint and alienate people.

Something something cost something something. Due to cost issues we can't give normal routes a mount so best we can do a face mask that is already in the game.

No way I'm grinding 12. I'm clearing one and be done with it.
Wait another 3 months for content.

Dumb decisions from Square Enix pleasing a small number of players. They need to realize it's the casuals and midcores that subscribe non-stop and buy their cosmetics.

I don't want to get into savage I have always been a mid core player and do quite a lot when needed if there is a decent reward if not I will try farm the gil to buy the item. I did enjoy the other variants because of the mount farm and I enjoy that doing it in my own time. I could get into tougher content I am quite capable but I could not be arsed with all the toxicity.

I think they have done nothing but give to more hardcore raiders lately and it really is a slap in the face as I have stuck with the game for almost 16 years and now because they want more streamers and hardcore players to be happy they are forgetting about the average player.

I do have to take a look and think wtf is Yoshi doing? It is a shame as the new variant looks so nice and I want to follow the tale but the rewards seem really poor. They also should be giving more than one crap hairstyle out like they used too. It seems all the hair was on the shop lol

Thank you for informing me, my subscription is running out soon, no point in extending it.

You must have missed the insane meltdowns that happened here and in other places because "waahhhhhhhhh i want the hair but i dont want to do harder content or spend gil i just want the rewards NOW no i dont want to earn them just GIVE THEM to me" over Chaotic.
They basically can't win - give higher-end content actually decent rewards, you get tantrums from people who want the rewards but abjectly refuse to even consider stepping foot in the content. Don't give it good rewards, you basically kneecap it at the starting line because now there's no motivation to run it for 90% of people. Of course, this could be solved if they stopped listening to the first group but eh, there's a reason babies scream and cry - it gets results.

Yeah clearly not, as casuals are getting a recolored mask this time and both mounts are only available for players who enjoy harder content.

So I'm really not sure what you're even talking about. Square doesn't care about casual players and repeatedly proves it.

Also, the hair was at least obtainable from hoards or from doing weeklies eventually (for PT at least). Here there's just absolutely no way to get it unless you 1) hope that more hardcore players will run the content and sell them, 2) you have the gil.

So yeah, same as chaotic.
