The OP also forgets that this raid tier was tuned more aggressively due to the fact that we had 4 weeks of tome gear by the time savage opened.
All of this min-maxing, "always be casting", "my perfect rotation is this", "no downtime!!!", etc. led me think that we got this bad half-baked state of the game because of these aforementioned players. So now devs either balance jobs around savages and make it easier to clear or 'cause someone cries that his job doesn't have a perfect 2 min rotation?
I would just like server consistancy; wiping while doing uptime because you got snapshotted 1 gcd before you normally do sucks.
My left kidney for better networking infrastructure in FFXIV ... They could actually make PvP good, too, if that happened. However, I suspect you might have an unstable internet connection, because a 1 GCD difference in a snapshot is a pretty wide range, and I play with 180ms from EU to NA.
What are you even saying here? That the "half-baked" state of the game is because of people that complain about downtime? Wouldn't that be just a fight design adjustment and not a job design adjustment?? Devs always have and always will design job balance around raiding, because nothing else in this game requires any kind of balance, duh. No idea what "make it easier to clear" is saying/implying. What does "my job doesnt have a perfect 2 min rotation" even mean?
OP underutilizing their kit and then also whining about DPS check too tight is... certainly a choice! Man... I can only echo the above sentiment from theunhappypotato: glad this person isn't on my DC, actually.
...But also, I don't think big YouTubers should put individual people on blast like this.
Depends on what you mean by blast. I don't think they were mean, and offered some advice instead of making fun of this dude. However, they did signalboost this thread existing, and most people looking at this thread are going to draw the obvious conclusion that this is not an encounter issue ... so they're gonna get blasted, especially due to the entitlement of feeling like they deserve to clear in week 2 gear, instead of waiting a few more weeks if they don't want to learn to play better.
Savage is the 2nd hardest difficulty, it should require some form of optimization to meet DPS checks.
Having to be good at your rotation while executing mechanics is fine.
If a fight requires you to bring specific jobs or you automatically fail the DPS check - That would be bad... Luckily that's not the case with M11S.
It should gatekeep players who lack the capacity to do so, especially on the 3rd and 4th turns.
Also this raid tier is tuned more aggressively because players had access to 4 weeks of tome gear at the time the tier opened.
When it comes to in-game advice and prespective I have to say Xeno is most of the time on point, also provides a fairly balanced take on things (at least the little that I watched from him).
Also, you have to respect the fact that he has a LOT of experience when it comes to raiding and, more importantly, Hard core Raiding. He understands the systems and what needs to happen and what you need to do really well.
I am not a huge fan of React videos, but it's a huge segment that gets views regardless of topic in general. Making content out of FF14 is not easy..lol.
He is right, but it was not just OP, as I was saying in my first post. Others in these parties don't perform well either.
Often, people see 1% enrage, so I worked it out: not keeping the healer DoT up for 50% of the fight can, on its own, cause you not to beat enrage. And that is something that healers can and DO overlook.
However, let's say you see 1% enrage because a healer DoT wasn't maintained. There are other factors that could have also helped beat the 1%, like people's ABC or not getting weakness/damage downs. ABC (always be casting) is a common issue for some players in this fight, but it is absolutely possible to keep casting, because there are players with significantly greater uptime than others despite playing the same role.
The reason I like Xeno a lot is that we agree on a lot of things. He also touched on my exact view regarding people who always talk shit and complain classes are super easy and braindead, but as soon as there is a challenge that pushes people to utilize their classes effectevly they fail to do so.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that classes are super mega complex, but it's not that easy to juggle uptime, rotation, and mechanics as well.
As for PF and how ppl are, I am well aware. I have cleared 4 tiers in PF, and now I am going for 5th. I have never raided on NA, but EU has its fair share of prog lying Clowns.
