Just put the fries in the bag and do a floor 50 run - get like 1-3 FC mates to go with you in a Fixed party if you don't think you can solo it.
If you don't go gung-ho into every mine and bomb you can come across, you can easily do this in under 2 hours.
Yesterday I went into PotD to see how the changes are. I started at floor 21 with weapon at 28 and armor at 33. I was able to make it to floor 50 in one go. After floor 40 the weapon was at 59 and the armor at 58, after that it hasn't increased. Without the changes it would have taken 20 or more hours, I guess. The new potions with the regen effect also help a lot. I would say now it's possible to do floor 1 to 50 in one go when you start with 0 atherpool.
Considering I did my first 1-50F in one go on a job with limited self-healing capability prior to the changes? 5 hours max. That's the instance timers.
As long as you keep a steel pomander for bosses and cycle potions you get for basically free, you will be plenty fine. The bosses have like 1-2 mechanics.
