2026 FanFests

Far, far too late, it should release mid-2026 at worst.

If 2027, they better have revamped the whole fkin game and communicate extensively about it, in more ways than sparse fanfests that also come way too late.

At the very least they have to do the media tour and if that's after JP Fanfest rather than before, I'd see it just being pushed to 2027 and by the point that's sorted it'll probably be at least March.

Yeah, I agree with you there. You got the Job and Launch Trailer in top of the Media tour which has always been after the 3rd fanfest from what I've seen. Still not impossible, SHB managed to fit all that in 3 months before the expansion, and applying that to in 8.0's case it'll push it to like Jan/Feb 2027 (so 2027) if they do what SHB did.

Really makes me wonder if they plan to change the dates around for that, but for the moment nothing indicates that, so I'm just expecting an early 2027 release date.

Feels too far away but I'll wait for a confirmed release date before I start getting mad at ghosts

I asked ChatGPT to list all last ''Japan'' FanFest and release dates because I didn’t feel like looking them up myself, but it messed up—even though I asked three times to double-check by forcing it to research on the internet.
After verification, ChatGPT did give incorrect dates.
It’s 5 months for Stormblood, 3 months for Shadowbringers, and then 6 months for the rest.

Yeah, understandable. I used it myself to also help get all the dates in order, but did search some particular fanfests like the SHB one by myself in the past and now. Weird it got it wrong in your case, but oh well, can't really expect perfection from these tools

Yes, generally CHATGPT is quite reliable, but it’s still a tool in constant evolution, and yes, it proves that it’s better to do things yourself, and that laziness ends up creating more work x)

To be fair it is a pain to find these fanfest dates. They used to have them all in one site to easily look, but I couldn't find it this time. ChatGPT is a good starter (I used it to start of), but yeah, usually when I try to make a point I try to look at the information myself to make sure it lines up.

It has improved a lot, but I remember during its start looking up information about FFXIV to test how well it works and it failed so badly... so when it gave me the fanfest dates I was like "let me double check before posting" XD
