This is 30 million registered accounts, not 30 million active players. Out of those 30 million, that have at some point in time played this game, you have maybe 1.5mil active at any given time.

Now losing 400k out of your 1.5mil still isn't exactly great.
But 30 million is a stupid number to throw around, at the height of it's popularity WoW had 12 million active players and it was a cultural phenomenon back in 2009.

cancelled my sub this morning. it will stay that way until they fix their incompetent bl mistake by either making the account ID server side or encrypting them.

guess I'm not coming back cause the likelihood they actually do either option? next to 0.

Don't know about chaotic since I already quit in EW but most of the "new" things that SE tries are half baked and shallow.

You're really going to tell me Island Sanctuary was even 10% as good as Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley

True, but I don't think that's due to their formula but just due to them making it shallow. They can have their content schedule and fit new stuff into it without making it shallow, they just don't.

That goes for making the content within their formula better as well, such as FATEs doing more than autos and a conal.

It wasn't and it wasn't even fun. Just a mindless click grind. I used to play a kids game in the 90s like that which was actually fun, and some sim games that would actually play out people living their lives in what you've built so you could play god.

The only slightly fun bit of it was catching the rare animals but since the creature wasn't doing any sort of interesting actions or mechanics or presenting any danger, it didn't end up as much either.

The irony is posting this during a free login campaign, when people who have stopped paying their sub are allowed to come back and post again.

You know even if there's a free login campaign, you quite literally dont need or have to log in right ?

Every person that has left the game and comes back for the free campaign days is doing exactly what SE wants which is to make the population numbers appear higher than they are.

I'm sure SE really wants people to come back every 3 months, say "yeah it still sucks" and then not resubscribe. All part of their master plan to not make money.
