4.5 month patch release is NOT a problem

I mean yes the main issue is the content itself. But I think the point is that we're waiting even longer for less interesting and content with less replay value.

Both issues actually stack, because now your not only waiting more time for a patch but your also feeling like you get less out of a patch depending on what kind of content you like.

MSQ - 2-3 hours on patch day
Beast tribe - 5 mins per day
Alliance raid - 30 mins per week (realistically, more like 30 mins once)
Unreal trial - 20 mins per week

That was it. Where on earth are you spending multiple hours per day? Once the MSQ was done, there was barely more than 1 hour per week, never mind an hour per day.

I don't understand why we need to have less content because someone else, who may or may not exist, may or may not have children, and may or may not have to look after them. Could Schrodinger's gamer not just play the game less and everyone else can actually get some value for their money in the form of actually having a reason to log into the game? None of this content is even mandatory outside of the 3 hours of MSQ every 4 months. If someone can't find 45 minutes per month to boot a game up then a subscription MMO might not be the best choice of hobby and I don't think it's fair to make that everyone else's problem.

This is the final boss of bad faith arguments. You're doing way too much to defend a multi-billion dollar company doing way too little.

Absolutely this. I spent most of Heavensward very slowly completing the anima relic for a single job, because of the crystal sand step. Yet of course other people optimized and farmed all of the relics for all of the jobs and then complained of no content.

Only one I did farm really fast was the last steps. My eyes looked pretty red after farming ARF. Obviously not what they were intending you to do.

10 minutes there and 20 minutes there would have prevented them breaking the light DC and them forgetting to translate the only quest of the patch.

Also stop blaming the playerbase for having more than 5 minutes a day to play the game, the content in this game takes literally no time even if you barely play once a week.

Where are these imaginary people? Or are they the ones who are slowly unsubbing from this game? If you're juggling kids, a job, housechores, a political career, gardening and juggling for orphans at a local circus to bring them joy. The last thing you should be doing is PLAYING AN MMO! You must be joking to even hint that this is how a game should be designed, around people with next to no time?, an MMO with an ongoing sub fee?! If this game was free to play, suuuure! But a game with a sub, that semi-armtwists you to do so unless you want to lose a house that you fought for? You think this patch content is anywhere near sufficient? Ooooh boy oh boy.

That's some massive copium you are on, my friend or some grade A trolling. If its an actual opinion, I hope the devs don't ACTUALLY design the game for people with such minimal time.

We're really defending this sort of patch now? The Copium must be on the extra pure side to keep up with the crippling addiction the Square Enixes white knights have afflicted themselves with.

I honestly wouldn't care about the time between patches. IF THEY CAME WITH QUALITY CONTENT. Everything we have been shipped in Dawntrail is Absolute garbage. You know what? I'd be more willing to let this bullshit slide if they at least COMMUNICATED WITH US A LITTLE BIT. How about "Hey we're sorry Dawntrail hasn't lived up to expectations here's what we're going to do moving forward." Instead we get radio silence, and they don't even put the effort into making sure a MICRO PATCH is ready for release. Where is the quality control? Has Square Enix just completely given up? Billions of dollars and all they can do is make weak little excuses about Technical limitations and Spahghetti code in the rare instances they do respond to us. Absolutely pathetic.

I would rather they just abandon Dawntrail as quick as possible. Wrap up the story as much as they can in either 7.2, or 7.3 and immediately start getting their team together for a MAJOR overhaul for 8.0.

Ok, for some reasons it seems it need to be precised : this in a post saying everything SE does is good and shift the blame on players : this is a post about players pointing at the wrong problems.

Saying that the problem is the "4.5 month scheldule is the problem" imply getting shorter patches will fix the problem : it won't. Yet that argument is everywhere when it comes to talking about XIV problems.

I feel like a dumbass repeating myself, but with the several answers that imply I said there was no problems with the game and that the content we have is fine, it seems it's needed. Do some of you only read the title?
