You dont have to ''gather'' the materials'' because they are all sold in the market. You can attain them in 4 seconds lol. I understand a markup for the crafters work. But over 150% markup? For items that are available instantly without any farm? Capitalizing on someone's ignorance because you're greedy is just plain wrong. Im sorry. The items I quoted in my post are exactly the price I said they were in the market.. so ..
I also dont agree with charging WAAYY to much just because they leveld a crafting profession. Yeah maybe a 10~20% markup for profit. But not some of the stuff im seeing.
Can I charge people for buffs just because I leveld up a support class? If the community pats me on the back for beeing a greedy fuck then I dont see why not.
Why dont u level a craft by urself then?
If i Craft, i want to make Profit. Otherwise my crafts would be nothing but a hole to throw my money into.
So, u dont want to pay the price? Go and make it by urself.
And dont call us greedy just because we dont craft to make lazy ppl like u happy.
I dont even try to argue about the last part of your post. Its just awkward...
Where to begin....
You don't have to craft your gear either, it is all sold on the market and can also be attained in the same 4 seconds...'lol'.
And if you think that gear is just crafted instantly without any farm you are gravely mistaken and probably have never tried to craft for the wards yourself.
A 150% mark up on gear? How about 7k cobalt ore that was gathered for free. What % mark up is that? You're not giving the crafters any value on the time it takes them to gather up the materials and make items.
As for your last point about charging people for buffs...parties are a give and take. You don't charge for buffs because your tank doesn't charge you to keep you from getting your face pummeled.
I understand if an item takes alot of time to craft, and requires alot of farm it should be marked up in price. Im NOT disputing that. Im talking about items that are in the market and are cheap to make, and take no time. If you read my first post you would see that's what my point was. I know you're all butthurt because you play a crafter, but read a little more before you post.
one item FINE SAND it's only craft able it can't be bought unless it's at the market wards and the people who MAKE it have to either buy the fish needed for it and or go out and fish for them then atleast have goldsmith to level 10. so there is a hole in your logic because you can no longer purchase fine sand through npc. Thank you very much have a good day sir
LVL 36 alch you need find sand to break crystals into shards to help level up your character. good to grind on from about 15-20
btw fine sand is cheap to make and easy to make i can hasty hand it very quickly on my lvl 26 gsm it's gathering said materials that's the pain in the ass thus making it where you'd rather farm it to make it than to buy it... also your point on gear again I say Check and Iron Guisarime (i know i spelled that wrong) the weapon for lancer at the lancer's guild npc then look at it on the market wards it's a drop in price from npc than it is from crafters selling it.
If you can't afford it there are other ways to get the gear you want. Some of us grind gear to level up our skills. It's expensive to craft and time consuming, a lot of time you can find reasonable prices. Trust if an item been sitting in a retainers bazaar for a while that price will get lowered. And if an item is selling, based on demand you going to pay higher then normal. But Gil ain't hard to come by in this game.
More people who want something for nothing.
This isn't news, if you've played *ANY* mmo, this is how it works.
Crafters spend alot of time leveling their craft(s), we then sell you the fruits of our labour. Materials will ALWAYS be cheaper than the crafted product and when those materials are not, guess what?, we don't make that item, unless its a special case (i.e a L.S member has the mats and needs it made).
Suck it up, and welcome to MMO's.
tl:dr
Craft yourself or gather yourself and have someone craft for you.
It's not just the crafters who are selling things on the Market Wards. The 50k gil Ash Composite Bow the OP references could very well have been a well-used item that's someone replaced with something better and are selling now that they no longer need it. I usually don't put things up on the wards unless they're +1 and/or melded items, since I turn everything NQ into materia. It's harder to put a value on HQ/melded items based on materials alone, so yes, I may some time be asking what seems like an excessive price, but if people pay it, then that's what it's worth.
For the OP - you might be interested in an experiment. Next time you don't like the price of something you see on the MWs, buy the materials and shout in town for an appropriate crafter to make the item for you, offering what you think is a reasonable reward. You may find people happy to help you out for a minor reward, or you could discover it might have been a better use of your time to just pay what's being asked on the MWs and get on with playing the game.
