I do play with keyboard, so I'll test that out! Thanks for the tip.
Went in a tried it myself was getting concerned as I am a legacy control user but it's not even remotely an issue, just move the correct way when your timer hits 0 and the heavy takes care of the rest. People are really blowing this out of proportion. It's gonna hit you if you are not paying attention, but if you are not paying attention the controls don't matter.
Meaning, every console player and a lot of PC players on controller as well. (Unless I guess a console player can hook up a mouse and keyboard. idk, I don't own consoles and never heard of someone doing it for gameplay, just typing)
Still, it brings us back to the original point, the mechanic is harder for some settings than others.
just swap to non legacy movement for that fight. Other mechs in other fights are easier with legacy imo (ultimate relativity in fru), this one is a bit harder. Just swap it and go back to your usual settings afterwards
Yeah this mechanic is something they should avoid doing again if it's going to be a nuisance for legacy controls
My main solution to it, is to fully lock on to the boss when my timer counts down so I can back-pedal and then unlock again for normal legacy movement again
After a couple hundred pulls (probably) since release, I honestly detest this mechanic, I have to drop my rotation to resolve it because it's so janky if I get it infront of me (behind is fine since I can just run forward)
They really need to change or flat out remove this Hands mechanic ASAP. I hate this mechanic the most in the entire fight. I've played with Legacy controls ever since 1.0. PC with controller user.
Maybe it's just me being good at this by having a good feel for when moving, or having solid latency (I honestly think bad ping is probably screwing over many people more than anything with such a tight thing), but so far I've been very consistent at dodging backward or forward, and I just press back on legacy controls at the correct time and get out of it just fine.
Yoshi P.: "personal settings should also be part of the PvE mechanics and contribute to it's overall complexity".
