Wow, Wuk Lamat is really single-handedly ruining the DT story...

She is literally the best new character they have had for a long time. You see actual character growth and she grows into her role as the story goes on. Judging by the majority of responses in this thread though it seem some people decided they were going to dislike her before a single thing happened. Think we all know why.

It's hard to complain about any other character when Bakool Ja exists. He's pathetically caricatural, it's like he's been written by a child.

I would like this as well. Although I would settle with having personal Stakes, like in Shadowbringers and Heavensward.
Right now early on in Dawntrail I have no investment to be here. I was not convinced by the rushed 6+ patch content that I should help Wuk Lamat win the throne. If anything it convinced me that she doesn't deserve it.

OK do you want to know what's the difference between how Lyse was written and how Wuk is written?

The people in charge of writing for Stormblood were more subtle by comparison.
We technically did a lot for Lyse that we're asked to do for Wuk Lamat. The difference is it's 5x more forced. Like a version of our interaction with Lyse translated to the standards of an 8 year old child.

Dawntrail reads and looks like it was written by people with background on slice of life anime aimed to 12~14 year olds. Which makes sense since 6.1~6.5 also felt like a slice of life pre-teen comedy anime writer was trying to write an epic story.

Maybe because she gave a mid performance in 6.55? Weird how we've had 6 months of her dialogue being free to listen to...

Honestly I am loving her, Im more annoyed the scions being around still but Wuk is awesome

The entire setup of all these characters just feels C tier. Wuk aside, I honestly think this is the worst expansion story, at least to the point I have been up too. I pray it gets better later on, around 93ish currently. I have had to take breaks and force myself to play because I have had so little enjoyment with the story so far.

I hope she dies tbh
