If you're asking about older servers, it's a grandfather clause. Otherwise it is actually just having way too much disposable income.
I don't agree with it and I would consider it griefing to buy up an entire ward, but I'm not a GM. It's also likely that their hands are tied as I can guarantee you at least three would try to go after them for personal reasons like some had with other content in the past.
All three GMs that caused an issue were never heard from again, so I imagine they follow the letter of the rules rather than the spirit of it to keep the work that they do.
This is soooo unfair. SE just needs to really change up housing and make it instanced so everybody can have a medium lot and can visit friends like Island Sanctuary. It's hard enough to get a house as is in game, we don't need greedy people snatching up every lot in a ward for no reason other than they're selfish and want to grief.
huh? You do realize they ban thousands and thousands on a monthly basis right? SE has done a really good job getting rid of a lot of the RMT. The problem is it is impossible to fully get rid of them in ANY MMORPG. What they should be ashamed of is it took them 10+ years to deal with the harrasment/blacklist issue. And the fact that if we remove someone on our friend list- we still remain on their list. Let's toss some fire on that issue.
I was going to agree but I'm actually not sure if this would work considering that submersibles only make about 12-14 mil a month per FC and setting them up takes around 5-6 months, which is around $65-$78 in sub fees if you're using entry level subscription. (As for the 5-6 months, I've set up submersibles for myself twice, it takes a LONG time even if you recycle parts from your previous venture)
Maybe they're using the same account for multiple FC's across various different servers, but going off a cursory search of gil prices right now it's about $1.50 per million gil, so each FC would only generate about $21 in gil per month weighed against the $13 you would pay in subscription prices.
Albeit, from what little I know of gil buying from talking to people who actually buy gil, the prices do fluctuate so gil is likely cheap right now compared to the start of an xpac where demand for gil is much higher, but it just seems like a steep cost for the little returns you get, so maybe there's something missing from the picture
Those thousands consist almost entirely of those teleporting lalafells who are blatantly hacking or people who are RMT spamming.
The frequency with which they action people who fall outside of those two camps is extremely low, and while it's true that you can't get rid of them entirely, the ones they are allowing to persist are not of a sort that can be easily replaced given what it takes to get them going in the first place.
