FOMO = money
All big corps know this. They're not our friends, don't act like they are.
I'm down with the idea. FOMO sucks. Also, there is absolutely no way I am buying an over pirced statue. I'm not buying statues in general because of statues, but I see no issue with this.
I remeber ages ago people saying theres no FoMo in XIV. ANd everytime I've told them they were liars. ANd yet people will defend this game like you kicked their dog or something.
Yeah this game's got a lot of FOMO in areas you wouldn't even expect. The casual content being fairly linear for example, means if you don't do it in the first week of release you'll never get to experience it for yourself; there'll always be some guy with a safety marker over his head spoiling the entire encounter. And people are always telling me that if they don't do their weeklies on tuesday, it means they'll be stuck with the dregs of partyfinder for the rest of the week; or if they don't get their clear that first week of release, then next week they won't be able to join good groups, and they genuinely stress over this lol. And if you don't hit up that seasonal event (because maybe you're unsubbed at the time), you'll have to wait a year and then pay real money for it if you want it again. And hell, just queuing up for story content can take ages if you're not doing it on release. The amount of times I've helped friends queue for EW story trials because they just wouldn't pop, it's nuts. Oh, and god help you if you wanna do niche exploratory stuff after the expansion ends, then you have to basically pray there's a small community still hosting runs on discord or whatever. And this is without touching on out-of-game promotional events like the statue one, or fanfest tickets selling out super fast, or the stupid grubhub event where they "ran out of [digital] codes" etc. etc. I've played a bunch of scummy f2p kmmos so I know all about greedy patterns and FOMO, but this one hits different and it's incorrect to tell people that fomo isn't utilized here as well.
Hehe
Meanwhile my friend got me the HW Shtola.
I can't even use the hair that was paid for...

Yeah it did lol. $400 ain't enough mate! Need to get on those star citizen ships.
It was the account bound state itself that was the difficulty, essentially data management / storage issues. To be clear my statement isn't a defense of the situation, just a statement of a known comment related to account wide and mog shop.
My imo is that every single thing on the shop that isn't a consumable should be account wide.
LOL the item listing on the store is now gone
