When using Hasty Hand, you gain 50% of the base exp gain.
I don't have much more to add, just wanted to throw that in there. I agree with everyone who's trying to tell Moog that he/she's wrong.

1. Well, ... how long do rest actually last? ~10k-20k EXP? Not really helpful, if you wanna level up effectively :/.
But at least an observable improvement, big thankS to developers team :).
2. 5000XP :O? Where did you get that, please? Unbelievable ...
If you would be so kind to specify an example ...
like recipe <> crafting class range, exact food and manual used ... may be, mg. craft <> craft <> control relation of
your gear and/or food used. Many thanks ...
You may, please, explain that to a casual gamer, who does only have 1-2 hours a day for FFXIV :/.
1) 10k to 20k of free exp is a huge help in the grind.
2) They pretty much already spelled it out. But here:
Base exp is 250.
Each level the recipe is over your current level adds 50 exp.
Rested bonus adds 50% up to a cap that scales with current level.
Engineer's Manual adds 50% exp (caps at 4,000 for tier I, 9,000 for Tier II).
All food gives 3% exp.
Quality gives a varying bonus. Generally about 120 Quality will give 100% bonus exp.
So to get 5,000 exp of a single synth you'd need to do a synth 9 levels higher than your level with a crafting manual, rested bonus, food and about 550 quality.
It's note easy, but with the proper abilities it's possible.
Even a quality bonus of 100% in the above example still gives 2,121 exp per synth. Assuming they have nothing to do but craft in that hour one could probably pull in 35,000-40,000 exp.
People need to stop equating casual with "easy" or "instant gratification."
Casual means accessible, and that's exactly what the crafting system is now.
Rested bonus accumulates while you're offline and leves remove the need to farm or buy mats. It's up to you to put in the work. All you have to do is log on and play exactly the part of the game you want to.
Recipe 10 levels above me, got about 400 quality. I was lucky enough to do fairly well succeeding at careful synthesis, and got both destabilizes I could use my brand abilities on, so that was a cool 200 quality right there. I should note, however, that the 5k xp was an anomaly. Most of the time I get 3k xp a synth.
Hello,
I do this relatively often. I notice:
Rested + Manual + Food + 10 Level Difference on Synth + 300+ Quality (less than 400, not sure what exactly) = More than 5000 xp.
If I JUST break 300 quality (I get 1% HQ chance) I typically get over 4500 xp.
At level 40+, I just do 20 synths and get myself one level. I am now 'resting' one week, doing 40 synths, resting one week, doing 40 synths. This is getting me about 2 levels per week very easily/quickly/affordably.
Is this the FASTEST way to level: Of course not.
Is it *A* way to level: Yup!
Is it one of the least boring/repetetive/inexpensive ways to level: Hai!
Actully, a 'careful' synthesis doesnt really work at 9+ ranks above, almost like 'Hasty Hand' it fails most of the time :/, especcially if a crafter does not have 'rest bonus'.
So, what may one do, if a synth go instable and there is no specific 'Brand of ...' skill equipped or already used?
Do one need to use special gear build for using 'careful synth' much more effective?
Any "Brand of" skill will stabilize any element. The only thing having a corresponding element does is give a larger Quality bonus.
Crafting is easier the more abilities you have at your disposal. With every craft at 34, you have some solid choices at your disposal.
Take some time to experiment and find what works for you.
You still get full progress on a Careful fail. You will see a lower progress gain but that's due to your craftsmanship.
There are 5 straight progress skills(+20%, +30%), having any 3 will almost guarantee a success on a +10 recipe. You can pretty much go boom on all the remaining actions and still complete the synth.
