I again want to thank everyone engaging in good faith discussion here. You guys really are the heroes of the forum.

Don't the FATEs adjust in difficulty based on number of players in the zone? I know I've been in some low pop/odd hours instances before and could solo at least some of the NMs.
You don't need discord for CLL, DR, and DAL either. Sure you're going to need people but you can just make a party finder if there genuinely isn't enough people there or try again later. I can agree with Eureka being too punishing to die until you get to the max level for each area, but once you get Zadnor losing mettle is essentially meaningless since they basically throw mettle at you there
Uh, I'm not sure I'd use Eureka and Bozja as 'mid-core' - Sure it required time investment, but that's about it - I suppose it depends on what definition you use as mid-core though. Personally, I see Bozja/Eureka as casual content, and then Savage as Mid-core (But something that can be approached with a hardcore mindset) - I think this is what gives Savage the perception of being hardcore to the more casual players. Maybe some people with more experience will disagree, but IMO I wouldn't see Savage as being hardcore, at least when I think back to my experience on doing Eden's Verse. Ultimate, yeah. But I guess some people may disagree with the sentiment behind it.
To address the more relevant point though, I do think that casual (Hardcore casual - e.g., the people that approach the casual content with a completionism mentality... The amount of time burned between Eureka, Bozja, and Ishgard Restoration is pretty boggling) players were screwed over in this expansion, probably the hardest.
In a sense on the thoughts re; BA though, to a degree, it also doesn't matter if this is viewed as mid-core, similar to how it wouldn't matter on whether ex primals. Both of them are something that a lot of players that would actually benefit from learning from it, are likely also the players that will do it once for the initial reward, and that being the Ozma mount.
I don't think casual should be easy all the time, I do think to a point, it should be more punishing, or at the very least should be something that does encourage players to bump up to the next level... But at the same time, I do think a lot of players have a false sense of insecurity behind it and the general expectation needed. I think it's just one of those things that a lot of players need to take a leap of faith in more than anything.
