This sounds FANTASTIC!!! So you're saying that when I have 8 alts bidding, and all 8 lose their 5th round on whatever large or medium may be around, the next time instead of 8 bids I get 16? Sweet! and if it goes 5 more I get 24??? WHOAH!!! and then when one wins eventually, the other 7 STILL get 3 bids each until they win? I love this!

I mean I can somewhat agree with you in sentiment that larger FCs generally should have better shots, but the reality really is that not all large FCs will necessarily make full use out of that large. There's a fair amount of people that run venues with little or no actual members in the FCs, and they create a more communal atmosphere than most large FCs could actually achieve since you rarely actually have that many members there simultaneously... SE does very little to actually incentivise it, and haven't done so since the OG Diadem 1.0 - and if we were to take it a step further then large plots should generally in the first instance be reserved for FCs under this premise, which isn't necessarily a good one since more members, nor more Gil generally translate to make pragmatic use of the plot.

So I think with this in mind it should really only be 1 bid per plot per FC. - I get that it's easy to flip opinions based on whether or not you win with the lottery and how long that is an outstanding goal for. But to trail back on a point with the older iterations... Most people wouldn't even have a chance at actually going for the plot, let alone actually obtaining a plot with the first iteration. Lottery simply places everyone on even tracking, regardless of whether or not people think that it favours a particular subset of players, e.g., multiowners.

In those case of those owning multiple empty houses, it would be for the presumed prestige and feeling of control. They have multiple of something others can't get on those worlds and they're part of the reason those others can't get a house.

In the case of those who own a single house but leave it empty, it's usually FOMO. They may not want it now but what if they change their mind a year from now and can't get it then? Better to get it in advance so they don't have to worry later.

Again, why housing should not be a limited resource/ prestige system. It's ripe for abuse by players with no actual interest in the content itself. If someone is in need of prestige, it should be earned and not something achieved through luck.

I don't think IS will end up with actual housing. I suspect that it is being used as a testing ground for technology that will become a new and separate housing system.

There is room for instanced housing and ward housing to co-exists. The current systems prove that. You get some very temporary congestion as everyone jumps into the new content at the same time and it disappears once they go back to their usual playing habits.

Unfortunately, shortening the lottery cycle is more likely to make the unlucky players even more miserable.

There will be fewer houses available each entry period because the supply will be limited to what was demolished/relinquished during the prior 6 day period instead of the prior 9 days. Fewer houses to choose between means more entries per house and a greater chance of losing.

It also means losing more times per year for those who just can't get a break. Instead of 40 losses a year, you end up with 60 losses a year.

If the number of players trying to get a house was static so the total number of entries each period could only go down, it wouldn't be that bad. Players would know that eventually they would have their house even if they have to wait longer than others. But instead there are always new players entering the system as well and that keeps the number of entries up.

Because housing being a matter of prestige makes literally no sense. I still have yet to hear a single compelling argument for it to be that way.

Time will tell, my personal hope is that it ends up being on the island, it shouldnt be in normal areas, but as I said, time will tell.
