Geomancer

No freaking way, Geomancer in FFXI? Do you know how much I wanted that job when I was playing it and NOW they finally release it? Damnit... >_<

As much as I would love to play the job though, I doubt I'll be going back to FFXI at this point... Sigh... here's hoping it gets put into FFXIV I guess... :\

This is great for me. I get to play both. Oh wait...that's not good for my spare time...

2.0 is an overhaul, XI's new expansion is an extension to the world and lore. The only excitement for 2.0 is that it'll finally (hopefully) fix what's wrong with the game. People will be equally excited when they release an expansion to XIV too.

Unless XIV does some amazing things by May 2013..XI is going to be the better choice for content, since 2.0 is merely an overhaul in the long run up until we see their update pattern.

IDK, while XI's expansion is definitely pretty sweet, I think you're understating 2.0. We finally get the continue the lore and to see a world that doesn't look the same for the most part. Then they also stated a list of content in the pdf files such as the labyrinth, primals, crystal tower, dragon horde and odin. If you ask me I'd say 2.0 is both an overhaul and a mini-expansion.

Either way, pretty sick to see a new FFXI expansion, and I can't wait to see what the other new job is cause it looks like a pretty freaking sweet shadow.

i'm hella jelly but i need HD graphics to play games. plus i've moved on from XI years ago.

I bet they are gonna reuse another wep for the job and the same ol spells.

I like how they added Geomancer after this abyssea shit. Thanks SE, now I'm willing to trudge through that awful content as a Geomancer.

I've been contemplating resubbing to FFXI ever since this was announced. It's terrible. I can't pay $23 a month on games, nor can I keep up with playing both. God dammit.

seriously? they stoped PS2 support? dang't!!!!!! but i just looked up how much it goes for and i could possible sell all my FFXI PS2 crap for a little over $1,000, i dont really know why its so expensive since you appareantly cant play it anymore but hey thousand bucks is a thousand bucks.

Sorry SE, my hopes are with XIV now... I can't and won't go back to XI... looks cool though.

PS2 support isn't stopped, just this particular expansion isn't in America/Europe since there's almost no reason for that system to exist anymore there. In Japan it still fully supported by indie and anime studios.
