House was wrongly flagged for auto-demolition.

What is with people throwing around "but sometimes entering once is not enough" as a kind of "gotcha"?

If you know that your house is in danger of demolition, freaking make sure that you get the clearance message in your chat? Is it really that hard? Also, there should be zero empathy for people getting this far into the demolition cycle and then not doing it right. If you do not want to play for so long, give it up to someone who actually wants a house.

Ya'll, just adjust your lights. You don't need NPCs, you don't need furniture. Just literally turn the lights on and off. I have never lost a house doing that in all my time of playing and taking breaks.

I can actually verify the housing bug as someone in my life recently lost theirs after only stepping inside and then leaving again (within the last week or two). Thankfully they were able to get another house fairly quickly but yeah, that bug does exist. I didn't think it did either until it happened to someone I'm shared on.

i tryed 18times to get a house and i made the ffx14house like the 1 live in now . beh mist 23 plot 12 my little house is set up better then big houses and i got 40 mil sunk in it now to the 200 k fish to the 8mil xmas tree i went nuts lol

Why even own a house if you don’t interact with it? What’s even the point? A dumb status symbol?

Auto demo did its job. Hopefully the new owner will actually use it.

So i have noticed that the op hasn't responded since their post. its just been us bantering back and forth. Also pratini. lots keep houses as status symbols lol. thats why you see lots of unused empty houses that square refuses to take away and let more active players get.

anyways. i have a few points to sum this up on what could have happened.

1) person went in on a alt/tenant and thought that did it
2) the bug unfortunatly hit them
3) they thought they went in when in reality they actually didn't.

also again, doesn't square send out an email about a upcoming auto demo to your email?

They do, but some people seem to use a burner email for their SE account for some odd reason, but I believe more and more that they were not the legitimate owner, or just trolling.

I believe we all have our own anecdotal evidence for its existence or not. It's likely one of those things we won't believe it until we experience it ourselves. With my work experience in both support, QA, and development in IT, I would bet more it's a user error than a bug but until SE confirms such a bug we can only speculate.

i believe if you paruse back through stuff. they did make a couple announcements about said bug happening. its rare but it does happen.

You're assuming everything the OP said is true. They claim they remember going in the house two weeks ago, they could easily be misremembering. Maybe they went in their FC house but not their private house. Maybe they went in on an alt. Maybe they have multiple characters that own houses and forgot to log in on one of them but remember logging into the others.

They posted in the technical support section and a mod moved it to general, so they might not even know it's here.

1) Yes it was a private house
2) I entered it on the character that owns the estate, indeed.
3) This is why I listed it as a technical issue but then the forum Mods moved this thread to general discussion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
4) I'm sure I didn't misremember because I had entered it to shift furniture around and show my friends my home. I received no email notification in any of my inboxes. Spam, trash, social, etc on any account I own.
