Considering the latest PVP trashmote ( /linkpearl ) has actual animation differences for races such a minute difference like this could be implemented by an intern in about a minute, I think it's likely that they'll simply forgo the ears on viera if it's even a SFX/VFX in the first place, if not then it won't be because it was "hard to implement" but because they made the decision to do so.

To be fair, the linkpearl is an emote that is used a lot in story quests so it gotta look right on the character....

I'll be honest, it just fell on my lap.., and since I know not many will be looking at the jp channels or those of the east..,(specially since it's a YouTube short/Video) I just came here and posted..,
