Yeah, it's kind of one of those games where you will either like it or you will not. It can be very rewarding but also very punishing. It is designed by default to frustrate its players to some degree. I'm not a huge Souls person, but I did play Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 (and got pretty far in both) and I've gotten pretty far in Elden Ring as well.

I have been playing too much FF11 lately. Probably gonna pick up the two newest God of War games though, they look good.

EVE Online and Koikatsu Party.

That's about it right now.

FFXI gang rise up! I haven't been on in a few days but I've mainly just been playing the "I've had these sidequests open for literal years, maybe I should actually do them before I continue on doing the main stories" game. I was super casual when I first played 20 years ago because what was playing an mmo, finally got to 99 and I've been having a blast at max level... until the inevitable merit/job point grind begins in earnest.

Just remember. No matter how high your level or how good your gear is. There exists a bunny in that game that will hand you your butt on a platter after it tears it off... >.>

I wouldn't expect anything less from XI tbh lol. Many a days were had getting a couple of levels and it was The Absolute Worst when you accidentally aggro'd something else that was IT and it wrecked you... goodbye level, hello depressing Level Down music and sound...

FFXI also had an abundance of fun little hidden mechanics and quirks with enemies. Like how bomb enemies will usually try to immediately self destruct if you hit them twice with spells that share the same element as the current in game day. Or goblin enemies having random chances for their explosives to misfire resulting in them blowing themselves up with bomb toss or blasting themselves in the face with firecrackers. And tonberry Rancor... It was so much fun watching ppl poop themselves when doing that Zilart story quest vs the Tonberry King and getting hit for something like 10K damage by Everyone's Rancor. XD

And the fun of watching dead bodies fall out of the ferry because Sea Horror Spawned lol.

I remember the first time I was on the ferry to Selbina or Mhaura and pirates happened... I was like level 15, that was definitely a "oh god oh god stay in the corner and hope they don't see me OH GOD THEY OPENED THE DOOR I'M GONNA DIIIIIIIIE"

Or just running through to Jeuno as a wee babbin and being in the middle of bunch of mobs that could easily wreck me in two hits when "Invisible is about to wear off." happens...

Man I love FFXI lmfao
