I think what makes player housing much cooler than inns is that you would have that feeling of getting home, kicking off your shoes and just relaxing in a place that you've made a home with your own time, money and effort. Looking at your past achievements (if making trophies is possible) having various rooms to craft maybe (if they were to add synthesis support) being able to have a coeurl cub curled up on the sofa, and logging in, and seeing all your neighbors. I was a fan of the Sims, Animal Crossing and any game you could customize your house (Runescape back in the day :D)

Display my trophies/weapons on the wall.
Display my manequins in a walk-in closet so I can see all the clothes I have.

That would be grand ^.^

Be able to hang a sign over my door that says, "We don't want any. Go away."

So I was reading the latest (I think) interview with Yoshi, and came across player homes. At first I was wondering how they would be implemented, but found out after I kept reading, that the homes will be instanced with not only our room, but a customizable garden? That made me pretty excited. I very much enjoyed having my room in FFXI and have actually focused on leveling carpentry in FFXIV so that I can make my own furniture when the time comes in the future.

And if you get a garden, do you also think you'll get a stable for your chocobos? Or do you think that will be handled at a town stable?

Do you think Herding will be added as a possible class?

Will you have to be a harvester to maintain your garden?

What kind of items do you think you'll be able to grow?

Don't get me wrong, I don't want this turning into Farmville, but I am curious about what they meant when they mentioned the garden. Maybe just decor, which would still be ok with me.

Also, perhaps I missed it, but do you think they'll make it so you can invite other players to your personal instance? They did it in FFXI (a few years after the game was released, but they still did it) I would hope they'd do it in XIV.

I may be able to record my gamplay and display it on youtube when I want to show it off, but I know not everyone is able to, especially PS3 players. (I know there are exceptions, but the majority of ps3 players cant record their footage). So I hope the ability to invite people in will be added. Even if it's not available at release.:D

I apologize if some of these questions have already been addressed in the interviews. I'm ashamed to admit, I skimmed through a lot of it. (Some just seemed like content that had already been addressed, or that Yoshi was unable to comment on).

I dont think each house has its own instance I think it is a community of houses in an instance maybe to actually go in the house is another instance though so I'm guessing others will at the very least be able to see the outside.

The only thing they have specifically mentioned being able to grow is gysall greens, but I wouldn't put it past them to allow us to grow other vegetables/fruits as well.

I hope stables are available for breeding I would also like crafting facilities as well and maybe some npcs to buy/sell stuff to. Would be cool to set up some retainers also.
