What lore do you ignore?

So far as I can tell, that's not how it goes. The sphere the machines and 9s went into, and the sphere in the crossover are different things.

The sphere in the raid is more related to the world of Drakengard. It is a sphere of destruction, sent by the watchers to enact their multiversal plans. Anything beyond that though is so patchy it might as well be wild speculation. My going theory is that timelines/dimensions the watchers have taken over then have an area displaced into another dimension along with at least one seed so they can have their agents go to work in the new dimension.

I mostly ignore that our character somehow always had their adventurer friends near them to defeat another surprise primal. I guess now with Azems crystal it makes kinda sense (still who are these people that are powerful as us and that we seemingly call friends but never see otherwise?) but before that it always sounded off. Not only where we always the one that the enemies talked about which makes no sense if we always have people with us but its also only us that reap the rewards.

At least now with the NPC rework dungeons make way more sense and I do like the interactions between the Scions NPCs in these. Yet the older primals and certains fights will always be done solo in my mind.

Agreed. I am sure somewhere someone has figured out a list of what fights were done solo and which ones with help.

Well, the game does act like you've solo'd a lot of those primals. Hell, it's why the Grand Companies wanted the WoL so badly, they SOLO'D a primal, who wouldn't want such a person in their forces?

There's a several small groups of things I ignore.

Au Ra lore
Number 1: that bit of text that states au ra are not dragons on the race selection. There's too much evidence in and out of universe saying otherwise. Not to mention its far more interesting visually and lore wise if they were
Number 2: I ignore the absurd dimorphism that Au Ra ladies dont make it more than 5 and a half feet in height and are universally thin waifus. As far as I'm concerned, they are easily as tall as viera if not more and CAN be more muscular. Avarnia spends a big chunk of her time running around in plate armour, there's no way she's flat as a board nor going to fall over in a stiff breeze
Number 3: Yugiri can go back to her village if she wishes rather than exile. The ruby princess is too nice for banishing and wants to open her place up. Why she couldnt interact with yugiri is beyond me.

Stormblood msq
Number 1: The first couple of Zenos' fights
In rhalgrs reach. I fail to see how that was a loss for us when we've survived far worse by that point. Him retreating because we broke his weapon and he wants to fight us with a better one makes much more sense
His second fight I could see more clearly as a loss if the cutscene showed us taking a blow for yugiri. Except...

Number 2: I ignore that bit of the msq with yugiri. Its completely out of character for both her and the wol. At the very least we could have killed or wounded yotsuyu mid fight as she's just standing around and accomplish a much more coherent story.

Number 3: The post stormblood msq I'm forced to ignore because the arguments levied for keeping yotsuyu alive amount to 0. I would have done what Hien did the first time and cut her down on the spot. That way Asahi could have summoned the primal using the body of his sister out of revenge and have a slightly less shitty villain.


EW
Like others have mentioned, I basically ignore EW for the most part since its poorly written at best and retcons stuff clumsily. I could write a whole essay.

A few stand outs: the gridanians did not need help blasting the allagan defences. They have a lot of healers, archers and lancers. Every healer in that city learns how to fight with stone, water and aero. White magic is also coming back into fashion thanks to both 1.0 and 2.0 in limited amounts. Lancers are the closest dps to a tank. The ala mhigans were just extra

While I'm not 100% there yet, I'm leaning sadly to have to ignore what the 12 are being made out to be as simulacra of hydaelyn's group. Not to mention if they are as suspected dynamis primals who funnel the aether to hydaelyn for her big stockpile to avoid trouble, then that can of worms is being ignored too.
Far better if they were actual gods who wisely stepped back from the stage from time to time (since mortals have a habit of feuding over deities and coming up with doomsday weapons that could be used on them)
It was nice to see actual benevolent gods and with what I hoped was good motivations rather than more tired out ascian stuff in Aglaia.

One other part I'm ignoring thats all over the place in lore: Sharlayan's closed borders and the evacuation from Dravania.
Graha mentions plenty of adoptions by sharlayans, not to mention the studium takes others. The evacuation of Dravania makes no sense either since the Garlean empire was not one but two countries away. Now if they evacuated just before the calamity since hydaelyn told them it was coming, that makes more sense. Still leaves several years between the calamity and us going there.

It seems to me, less closed borders, more really tight.

I ignore the whole "going back in time" part of EW. We have Azem's crystal. Our crystal. I don't think its that hard for Elpis to just be our memories of having gone there as Azem instead of time travel BS.

I also ignore that the Final Days only happened in Garlemald and Thavnair. I understand the role quests stories are supposed to account for that but, Thavnair and Garlemald actually had a sense of panic, threat, and urgency that the role quest wholly lack.

And probably the one I ignore to the nth degree - I ignore that SE ignores the WoL can't be a healer. No, Alphinaud did not heal Haurchefant. I did. I don't understand why you refuse to let healer WoLs try in the cutscene. Doesn't matter if we were going to fail we wanted to try and we should have been allowed to. "You're too weak from battle to properly heal." All the more reason for us to fail! "You were in shock." Slightly more reasonable, buuuut considering some of us have been healing since our journey started, kinda falls flat when we see our adventuring allies faint near dead to the ground for 50+ levels!

That's not what Azem's crystal does. It is explicitly mentioned that it does not have any actual memories of Azem, only that one spell. It doesn't function like the others, because it wasn't designed in the same way or in the same batch. Emet made it as essentially a memento for himself in secret, rather than a tool for ascending an Azem.

I'm not gonna say you can't have reasons to reject the Elpis bit for other reasons (I have my own complaints about it), but no, we literally didn't have a means to do it ourselves. I was going to say that we theoretically could've used the crystal to summon up an apparition of someone who was there, like how Emet got dragged in for the Seat of Sacrifice, but... no, that wouldn't work either, because we didn't know who was actually there until going.

EDIT: Unless you're also choosing to ignore the fact the Azem crystal doesn't do that, which... I guess I can't stop you doing?

All I'm saying is that what I believe it should have done. Every other crystal for the 14 seats could do it. There's no logical reason why ours couldn't and I would've preferred it.

tl;dr - I'd have rather the crystal we gotten be more than a "this is the reason why you now have other heroes/wols in your battles"
