Real talk; the lack of Job-specific STORY content is really hurting my excitement...

Yeah I don't think that the role quests are bad by any means. I like the stories told within each one although it definitely feels like the role requirement for them is more tacked on than what you actually wind up doing in those stories. There's only a few I felt like they connected to the role such as EW healer. And this also applies to the ShB role quests too.

But definitely I ask for the job quest stories more so because I enjoyed a lot of the previous characters and want to see more of them. I want to hang out with Curious Gorge again, I want to talk with Hamon Holyfist and the lala duo, The Thaumaturge guild brothers, Rostnsthal and Joye, Oboro and Karasu, The Rogues Guild mates, Sylphie, Alka Zolka etc I seriously miss all those folks whom we shared our journeys to mastering our classes :(

I want to know about how things have been going for some characters, especially after the Final Days.

Guys like Sidurgu, Oboro, Sylphie, Alka Zolka and Lily... And given recent events after we've dealt with their homelands, we'd definitely stand to gain more from talking to Radovan (Bozja, as much as he's distanced himself from it, especially now Garlemald's gone), the Lemures (Garlemald and the future of its people/invaded territories), and Leveva, Lalah and Loifa (Sharlayan and its new outlook). Hell, even adding something to the Alchemists' Guild would be interesting since we now have access and direct connections to the Alchemists of Thavnair!

Hell, the Final Days could be something worth exploring with a Dancer quest.

Hell, Leveva would be doubly so more interesting, because we went to the freaking moon AND we're currently punching our way through the Twelve whom our constellations and cards draw on.

I have to disagree. Most job quests in Stormblood were just downright bad imo. Of course we had exceptions but it really showed they were running out of ideas. Granted, the role quests haven't exactly been stellar but that kind of highlights the problem. Imagine trying to come up with nineteen unique stories. It just isn't feasible any longer.

have you not connected enough? honestly some stories were so boring that I just straight up skipped them and I care about story.

Yeah there were a lot of complaints about job quests in stormblood and how bad they were and they should just stop if they are going to "phone it in" .

Honestly i think the role quests fill the void of job quests quite well. The stories for the role quests were quite good and in some cases surprised me how some of them hit my right in the feels. Of coarse im sad that there arent more but thats just because human nature is you want more.

in my opinion you are just making other dumb quests that dont tie in on the current content in any way and that would probably take some good content like role quest or a new jobs quest. now tying some few old npcs back to job quest, good.

Imo job quests now should revolve around side content you have done as lore building or such. You won't get anything amazing, maybe a title.


For example, you could unlock a GNB quest if you have finished Bozja content, unlock a Monk\Black Mage for doing Aglaia and so on. (Monk could get a small quest for doing Temple of Fist dungeon too!)
These are just mere thoughts but i loveee exploring more lore with NPCs i ended up learning from, does not even have to be forced combat\solo duty unless people want that included.

Not everything has to tie into the main story. It's called world building and having connection with some of the characters. Apparently this concept is alien to you. I understand many of the job stories didn't jive with some people but it did for me and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this, which is why this thread was even created.

I feel like ever since they did the big battle system changes in ShB, they want to keep job lore as vague and fluid as possible so they can change the jobs' gameplay whenever they want/need to (like new expansions and/or when new jobs are added). (；´д｀)ゞ
