Summoner can get away by doing a Bahamut > Ifrit Opener and Swift Slipstream. They really are the ultimate ranged physical caster. Their damage is still pretty bad, RDM does better than SMN on the second boss but the DPS check is tighter on the door boss so SMN wins P8S just because of that.
