I'm a fan of this if it's the default dialogue box. I like the comic book aspect because when I think of comic books, I think of story.
At least the font isn't comic sans... lol
i like that box, but ill change the other FFXIII looking UI stuff. when they put out info on how to make the addons.
I like it. The text and alignment is a little off for me (a little big and left aligned too far over), but otherwise, I kinda like it.
I'm ok with the dialog box.
The brighter background, and shape gives it a more lively feel to it. Least that's how I see it.

And yeah I'd like to change that font too, it's quite hideous to be honest.
I believe the same UI designers for FFXIV are the same guys that did the UI for the PSP Tactics Ogre remake. Which is a very fucking cool thing. I like this style alot. Fits in with Matsuno's games (though he has nothing to do with XIV). They could tone down the font size and use a more "graphic novel"-appropriate typeface, though.

It's probably only for when Moogles speak, seeing as how the fact that you can understand them is kind of special in this world.

I love it! It's so much more readable than what we have now. Of course, I'm open to seeing some font customization but SE is definitely going in the right direction with the typography.
