Island Sanctuary feels intentionally slow and inefficient.

I am really enjoying it...after so long playing it is nice to just go and escape with my minions!

I have the time to play but I am enjoying the pace. I am quite high rank but mainly because I love clicking the shiny plants and trees...it reminds me of collecting the Nothing's in Blue dragon.

Not so bothered it is slow I am liking the peace and quiet and also the underwater is so beautiful <3

I am still figuring things out but so far it does not need to be rushed. I also like it not being part of the main game.

Like yeah, it's "optional" but it's not removed from the rest of the game. I was simply asking because I wondered if maybe the shop expanded as you ranked up. Shame on me though for not taking the live letter's word for it 100%.

I've got a lot done and I have 4 islands up and running. What's the rush? Oh those rewards got to have them right away. It's like the 3rd day. I'm expecting we'll earn the monetary currency a lot faster with 3 workshops and other structures built. Seems you need to spend money to make money later. Going to see how that goes.

At it stands right now it's a pleasant diversion from what we normally do in the the game. Highest rank atm is my Sophia alt who is rank 5 and working on a Grainery.

Probably removed from the game, in the sense that aside from the initial unlock requirement, the entirety of the progression of Island Sanctuary is independent. In the sense that; You do not need to be adequately geared, the progression of crafting and gathering here is independent of DoH/L outside, similarly, your currency outside of Island Sanctuary does not matter. That is probably what they meant by "Removed from the game" - and not - "Well no aesthetic rewards for you to use outside"

That being said, seemingly the only outside nuance there is, is the expert recipe for Level 90, which is potentially tied to an aesthetic inside of Island Sanctuary (Presumably)

Hence why I asked. I don't think it was that stupid of a question to ask, but apparently others felt otherwise.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentionally slowed down. They made great pains to say this isn't something that should be rushed. Could be the timegating was a way to soft force that in game.

I will say, to the point of the gameplay part being slow, I've found it kinda isn't.
You can collect the mats, queue up works and building, setup crops and the like. But those bits don't actually take that long once you know what you're doing.

It's the waiting for stuff to be done that takes up the majority of the "work". At which point I've just gone and done something else.

All told, I haven't actually spent as much time on the island itself as I was expecting, beyond the initial startup stuff.

It's one of those where..

Your ability to produce via the Workshop (and the currency therein) is impeded by the need to spend expedition items on the upgrades for Grade III stuff, similarly, your ability to produce is equally impeded by the whole... Lack of expanded animal pen and farm. It's actually by design and quite clever really, if you think about it. Initially, I thought the same, but it's just one of those... Slow starting, and then once you amass the necessary resources, everything will get a whole lot easier when you can start being more intelligent with the workshop and playing around with the Supply/Demand-shift mechanic. Which is more than likely where a lot of progress will come from. As opposed to just... Do an efficiency bonus on whatever materials you have.

Having the right combination of animals to allow you to play according to supply/demand, in addition to expedition items will greatly play into the efficiency.
