Gold Saucer: What are your expectations / wishes?

Any game that could be played with other PCs is cool. And if its a card game, would be awesome if they force us to collect all of them all arround the world - another reason to explore and have fun, maybe even force players to party up and kill some higher lvl mobs lvl60+ or so for the better cards etc. IMHO its very importaint to add something of the sort to keep us busy while waiting for those 15minute cooldowns of the instance re-entry... Dont let your customer get bored!~

The more i think about it, the more I like the idea of PvP texas hold-em FF-style. (or similar games where gil can be wagered)

It wouldn't add gil to the system, since ppl bring their own to the table. It would redistribute, but also adding a rake on all cash pots would remove gil from the system in a very real-world way.

Its a casino, it is implied that we can. That is why /random is even available in the game.

What the reps have said in the past with regards to gambling limitations is that if the "spoils" of gambling have any real world monetary value, some nations will not approve, and this has caused some exclusions in various past contests.

Since this casino content is entirely restricted to players ingame and a likely a currency limited to the casino itself, it is doubtful that it will be breaking any such rules.

Casinos in previous FF titles were notorious for having you use attractions rather than gil to earn tokens, which were worth nothing outside of the casino.

This gave me an idea for a mobile option tied to the casino. added to the OP.

This would be an awesome addition.

I only hope they include half of what the FF7 Golden Saucer had... No side-area or "for fun" area in a FF game has come close since then.

I miss betting on races, the laser-gun roller coaster and the Colosseum where you fought mob after mob 1 v 1 for prizes.

Great thread. :) Love your ideas.

I'd also like to see the further development of things we saw in Final Fantasy VII's Gold Saucer, but remade for XIV. Stuff like:

* Chocobo Breeding System tied into Chocobo Races (where you could watch / enter your own Chocobo you raised). :)

* Final Fantasy Casino where you can play whatever interesting Card Mini-Game they want (like Tetra Master / Triple Triad, etc.).

* Maybe have fun Rides where you can do stuff like Ride the Ferris Wheel over Gold Saucer (and see a cinematic experience) (like the Cloud & [Aerith / Tifa / Barrett :)] scenario).

* Solo Arena Challenge to win Prizes.
