I prefer his videos where he takes on a more comedic tone. He had many of those videos back in ShB when he, along with a lot of other players were enjoying SAM. His recent videos, while making really good points, send off an air of condescension which quickly loses any sympathy I have. The videos feel more like hosting a pity party where there is more than enough copium to go around.
I'm indifferent though. While I am as disappointed as anyone with the changes to SAM, and some design choices in general; I tend to view things from a lens that is zoomed out, and SAM weighs in as something currently unfavorable vs all the other things I do enjoy about the game. It's not enough to bring me to an unsatisfactory state with the game, and would take a fair bit more. Videos like the recent ones from misaphenchair make it seem like the sky is falling. No thanks.

I hope that Squeenix takes over the PvP Job identity to PvE. It doesn't gave to be 1:1 the same kit, but the idea behind it, would be amazing.
Also whike were at it, i think we should have by the time we hit lv70 (since that is the point, where we stop getting Job Quests and Role Quests take over) , all current Job Skills obtained, instead of just continuing that we just get 2-3 new Buttons and some Filler passives at the cost of getting more old Skills removed mid-expansion.
It would be far better if we get selectable passives past lv70 that influence existing Skills, allowing not only customisation towards personal preferences, but it would also make Job adjustments as a whole alot easier from the Dev side. -

FF14 players at large just really need to get over the fact people can find things to criticize in FF14 (even things that aren't on the pre-approved list of things your allowed to criticize, like the slowness of ARR and whatnot). It's not a sacred cow, and while there's a lot of goodwill for the game, community and the developers that people love to emphasize, you can take things to the extremes of toxic positivity. If the game can't handle your a bog-standard vitriolic youtube takes then it's already done for. Every game developer has to deal with that, you don't need to white-knight frigging Square Enix.

The one line in the video that stood out to me was "Why did anyone learn to play the job correctly if it is just going to be taken away?" I've dropped several jobs just for this reason.
Who are these changes actually for? If there isn't a massive job rework across the board in 7.0, I don't know why they would butcher jobs as they have. -

The whole clean up for the far future makes no sense though - why would you remove a job mechanism year 1 and add a replacement year 2? Yes, you probably have to start working on it little by little behind the scenes, but hold off on actually publishing seemingly pointless incremental changes. I would understand if they changed anything else that would make Kaiten problematic, but they didn't. Even if it's eventually necessary to remove it, there's zero reason not to push it back to a later release.

I decided to start over on a 2nd account, and practiced really hard on the one thing I do enjoy, my Samurai. Other jobs did not appeal to me. Rarely do I ever get compliments, I'm sure people can relate to that. I practiced hours and days on that darn Striking Dummy and it paid off.
