It's a style of dance which shares its name with the magazine, due to the dancer typically striking a series of exaggerated poses. It originated in the ballroom scene in NYC, which is considered a very influential/historical lgbtq+ subculture. There's a great documentary on the subject called 'Paris is Burning'.Quote:
