So housing issues get addressed by Yoshi-P immediately, but Hrothgar...?

I don't really understand the technical side as to why they can't just add the ears afterwards?...
If there's bad clipping issues they could just shave some of the hair off to accommodate?

My Brother in Hydaelyn, they can't even make Healers engaging to play. Hrothgar issues are so far on the backburner it's ridiculous.

I knew before I came into this topic that yes they did address this recently. It seems the OP was unaware.

Yoshi P did say years ago that they had special heads and that hairstyles would take time. This dichotomy you present was not presented, not even in the excerpt you posted later.

Before the new hairstyles were presented there were two major hair concerns for Hrothgar
1. Having to fantasia to change hair which is connected to the issue that hairstyles are tied to faces.
2. like viera, a lack of hairstyles available in general, partially connected to point one but with all the same sub issues vierra had:

a. not many racial hairstyles
b. no access to general hairstyle shared by most races
c. no access to special collectable hairstyles including those purchased for real money.

As far as I've seen until the reveal of the new hairstyles the idea that they would remove ears never came up. This is supported by the response of both the English and Japanese speaking community.

It is clear from the response that no matter what hairstyle is added, no matter which category, Hrothgar Hairstyles should not remove ears*. He should not be surprised by the reaction and should take the time to do it right.

*Maybe if the hair is actually big enough to fully cover the ears in their natural position.

I think everyone's just frustrated at his conflicting plans when the limited races are involved. We've been expecting more racial hairstyles since they were promised back in 2019... Only for him to give us Karen hairstyles instead, then he claims 'you can have more racial hairstyles but this is gonna take a long time' as if we haven't already been waiting for over 3 years.

There are many popular threads on the request of more racial hairstyles for Viera and Hrothgar, one has over 2000+ comments and 200,000 views but it was never passed along to the developers. The main question I want to ask him is, why are we forced to wait even longer when we've been requesting this for all this time? I don't think the community could have been more vocal about what they wanted.

Edit: I did not take the time to read the other responses to you, so I'm really sorry if people have already said what I did :) Hope you're all good! As you can see, the forums are very heated when this subject is brought up.

Being frustrated doesn't mean players need to go for the throat of allies trying to help with missed information.

Housing was simply a more critical issue to tend to then hairstyles

There's no excuse for people taking their frustration out on you, sorry if that seemed like I was trying to excuse their behaviour.

I don't play Hroth, but I was super dissapointed with the Viera hairstyles added. I mean they are not my cup of tea but fine for some all I really wanted was to be able to use the Ramza hair for my Viera since I had to go thorugh Ivalice to get it or at least the ones I paid for, but oh well.

The biggest issue with this is there has been alot of intense visceral whining lately.

Listen to the community but don't only listen. Once a game listens completely to a community to try and give everyone what they want you end up with Rift 2018. If they put all their effort in Hrothgar hairstyles you'll complain about something else that was more immediate that involves actual gameplay or quest or dungeons etc, but hey you got your hair right? What if they delayed the expansion again, didnt add more story? No more new dungeosn for three years? If people do nothing but give your shit for something you've bled for, for years why would you keep doing it? Remember George Lucas sold Star Wars because people shit on him for 13 years. Hrothgar and Viera hair are not high prioity and they don't need to be. Would I like more hair for my viera? Yes but I dont see the need to complain endlessly about it. I get it, it's been 3 years but Hrothgar hair versus the housing issue? Which one is complained about more? The housing so which one should be addressed first? Not hair.

that is literally not an excuse since Yoshi-P is the one who insisted on having Hrothgar added to the game. He added this half-baked mess of a race and then completely ignored any requests or questions on the subject with a dismissive "it's complicated", despite the fact that modders have fixed the hair and hat problems for hrothgar, and did so within months of them being added to the game. When they added the earless hairstyles in 6.1, they fixed them and re-added ears within HOURS of it going live. There is no justifying or defending their absurdly lazy approach to giving hrothgar new hairstyles. To compound the sheer amount of gall, he had the audacity to go "well.. we COULD add new hairstyles with the ears still attached, but it's going to take a LONG TIME because it's so COMPLICATED." despite the fact he had THREE YEARS to talk to the community about what we wanted done.

If he had done so he would have known FROM THE START that Hrothgar players have, above all, asked for the ability to switch between the 8 racial hairstyles added in 5.0 across the 4 faces at the Aesthetician. There is no excuse outside of laziness that would prevent them from doing even that much considering those 8 hairstyles were already designed specifically to work with hrothgar ears in mind.

So please spare me your white knight rhetoric and quit defending their inexcusable behavior.

What about "The hairs are attached to the heads and they would need to take the time out to redesign the models to separate the hairs from the heads to make that possible" do you not understand? It isn't the easy fix you make it out to be, it would require a full redesign of the Hrothgar models.
