You know, looking at their forum the moderators were only responding on their posts from 2013-2017... Which is still floating around on their first 2 pages. Beyond 2017, they haven't had any responses from mods as far as I can see.

Edit: Pages 7-8, 2019 and 2021 do have responses, but they do occasionally go a few years without communication.

It doesn't, especially in context-heavy languages like Japanese. Japanese is incredibly idiomatic, and the mere sentence structure you use, or the use of a certain word to express an idea as simple as "me and you" can come off as inappropriate in the wrong context.

But if nothing else works, might as well go there and hope they see it, right? ...except Square will know it's us and ignore it either way. If anything just from seeing our profiles before reading awkward grammar.

Alternatively, JP players aren't happy with us going to their forum because it could give off the wrong impression or drown their voices out.

If the "hidden ears" aren't some kind of painful April Fools' joke, I don't want to imagine what female Hrothgar will be like or the backlash they'll receive… If they continue disregarding the EN community, more and more will come to view the JP forums as the only forums to be heard. Both communities have valid feedback to share, interesting ideas to propose, etc. There's no reason why both can't be recognized and valued.

I wonder what the viera ones in 6.1 will be. I hope it's more than just the one shown in the preview.

What feels even worse than the god awful choices in hair that they chose for hrothgar, was also the fact that they were actively laughing at it (Someone literally had to sit there and look at that and be like "yea, this is good"). Like, they knew it was bad, the print outs were god awful, but it was still given the green light to be shown off. The laughing is what honestly did it for me. I first thought it was an April Fool's joke (a part of me still thinks it is), but after seeing the prelim patch notes today, it actually made that laughing have a bit more sting to it...Actively poking fun at something that has been requested and *PROMISED* for 3 years to come. The more I think about it, the more it feels like Malicious compliance...

Now, I want to give Yoshi & Co. the benefit of the doubt because I dont think Yoshi is the type of person who would look the hrothgar playerbase in the face and honestly tell them "This is what you asked for...". He just doesn't seem like that kind of leader, but knowing that this caused a huge wave of backlash, but choosing to remain radio silent and not even at the very least making a post explaining the situation and the thought process that went into this is honestly whats making people even more mad ontop of the bad hairstyle choices...

What makes matters worse is there is a thread on twitter breaking down the hair situation for hrothgars and to basically sum up what was said is that they had to make head models for the hairs to work or something since the hrothgar ears are originally baked onto their head models like the other races (minus Miqo and Viera). So, someone had to sit there and actually "fix" those hrothgar heads and put in the effort to remove the ears rather than taking that effort and actually fixing what was obviously rushed.

Theres no way anyone believes that this train wreck was "three years in the making". It feels more like one of those projects that you know has to be turned in, but you procrastinate so long on it, that when you turn it in, its obvious that this was completed in the last possible second and for some reason you're still surprised at the negative feedback it receives

and its hard to tell if the forehead is super big or not like they did with the ponytail they added.

The Hrotgar are hilarious and sad at the same time : hilarious because they look goofy and sad because it worry me to see the dev being satisfied with such half assed and low quality work :/

But aren’t the japanese players coming over to our forums and making posts? I don’t see why that’s acceptable and the vice versa isn’t?

The worst part for me and I think most of the players who don't even play Hrothgar is that we expect better. The issue itself is relatively minor, but the fact they thought this was okay isn't great. I know it's not the quality of work I expect from SE.

IMO, they have done a lot things lately that are burning the goodwill they've built up over the years (they have a ton of it) but that doesn't last forever.
