Issue fixed itself, I can confirm to use xiv.com for 12.3, though it eats away at the CPU, it also solves the audio artifact issue on the mac.

Just want to chime in on the XiVmac solution, it's significantly better than the official launcher even prior to 12.3. Better support, framerate & performance, and allows you to use Gshade if you're into that. Quite remarkable that 3 folks in their spare time are providing a better solution than the FFXIV team. A rare mis-step by the devs that I hope is rectified, but I doubt will be. The easiest solution would've been to work with CodeWeavers on a new 21.1 build and I suspect when this is resolved that's all it will be and XIV on Mac will still be better.
Hello
I have dowloaded the Mac launcher on https://www.xivmac.com
but my antivirus (AVAST) detects many occurrences of Win32:SuspBehav-B[Heur]
Do you know why ?
I am relatively new to this game and am astonished at the lack of support on this issue. I have submitted numerous tickets and the response I get from each ticket is the exact same...
We understand you may be having some difficulties and we are glad you reached out to us for assistance. We have reviewed the details you have provided and we have determined that your concern can be best handled by our Support Center team.
This is maddening.... are there any other options for support or should I just save myself the headache and cancel?
This is perhaps the biggest problem for me. I understand that SE can do little about what Apple decides to take in or out of their system. However, the lack of official response in SOME fashion is galling. At least acknowledge the problem and that you're doing something SE...
didn't know launchers were allowed
gonna chime in and say though that this launcher is fantastic it improved my performance as well somehow. I can now run in 4k on my m1 max
The alternative is not playing if you're on MacOS 12.3 due to Squares negligence :p
They are not.
However, we paid a license fee to play the game on OS X, SE have had more than a year knowing Python 2.7 was EOL and due for removal, and SE haven't updated us since December on what is a game breaking problem.
In a choice between running an unpatched operating system, or a third party launcher, a lot of people will choose the launcher, and stay quiet.
There is no real other choice.
