Critique of Endwalker Characters

I like the Scions. They're our friends. I don't wish for any of them to die. I'll never understand why people dislike them as vehemently as they do. Having wrote this, I thought Krile was going to make some sort of sacrifice and would be the next to go for some reason. Thought I saw some hints. But no, she was fine.

Yeah, conflict is necessary because it creates forks in the roads. The decision, things they say, personalities, mistakes, failing, fights and disagreements are important even among friends. The emotional conflict and resolution is quite oddly what strengthens and creates bonds/connections.
I don't think I can recall disagreements/fights/insecurities/etc among the scions.

What are their personal goals ? Aspirations ?
What terrible personal events have they endured that helped form who they are ?
Where did they come from ?
How did they become a scion ?
Why do you like WoL so much ?

I know we're BFFs but who are you ???? lol

Usually party members in rpgs have their own set of goals if the personality department hasn't been all that fleshed out. These goals are usually interwoven with the main storyline and go beyond "I want to seek knowledge!" or "I want to spread world peace!" or the other nebulous dreams the scions claim to have. How am I supposed to root for people who are doing practically nothing of substance?

Well their just mirroring the Wol. We have no personal goals, did not become a scion until after we met them, have never spoken of family. Nope we are just a bumbling fool who stumbled in one day and got to hang out with the cool kids. :)

If all they are doing is mirroring the WoL then they aren't bringing much to the table. Reminds me of when people tried to sell me Zenos as a mirror or foil to the WoL, to me he's just a boring psycho. Villains like him and Hermes need to not resurface again. Emet, Varis, Thordan, they were all infinitely more interesting because they had actual motivations driving them.

Your right I guess we could get rid of character creation and the illusion of choice and scrap it for an established well thought out character, since this is told like a single player narrative. Maybe just be able to change are names at most.

OP might as well have just titled the thread "Reasons why I like the Elpis trio better than the Scions" because that's all the post basically boils down to. I see no actually interesting or useful critique to be had on it.
