There is an external launcher for Mac that completely fixes the current audio issues and makes it run smooth as butter again on the M1s (from what I've head). My wife is having these same issues on her laptop. NVIDIA Video Card and Intel i5 Chipset. They just started with the 6.08 audio "fix".

I have a 2019 Intel MBP and its not just an M1 issue, on 12.3 the launcher just crashes and reinstalling FFXIV doesn't help at all.
