Oh, it was a disservice. Even the man himself ask "why would I be stupid enough to jeopardize my mission by inviting my enemy to my hideout". If emet truly not sentimental, he would have kill the WoL at Mt gulg, or at least never tell us about Amaurot. He kept giving us chances in the name of "trial" and "test". He can easily kill the scions before ardbert joined us yet he didn't.

And don't get me started at Azem crystal and elidibus. You might say "but emet help us during elidibus fight because it's mercy killing", you'll be right, but honestly it's dumb as fck. In order to make that narrative works, they made elidibus a half-ass person. This guy has led countless genocide over 12k years, they only need to rejoin one more world, and yet he refuse to remember because "remember things hurts me :(("

So yeah, we only win because emet is too sentimental and elidibus being half-ass. Oh, and plus plot armor.

People really out here like they A) aren't following the story or B) not experienced with JRPGs.

It's hard to believe people come up with so uninformed opinions so...consistently.

Literally, you don't have the blessing of light anymore now that Hydaelyn is gone. Meaning while you may be at the very least be above average, you aren't necessarily a God.

If you ask me, the creation of those warding amulets is a narrating ploy to potentially cover the fact that the WoL is not auto protected from primal summonings anymore. You can put regular big bads again and narratively, it still makes sense. You can narratively power scale a character back which they have already done. They even reduced you contextually to the "traveler" or "adventurer". You aren't really considered the WoL either.

Do you not understand Character Progression?
We started small, and now we are this Big Badass. Thats.....how Progression Works lmao

Now, its just pure speculation where we go from here and what kind of threat we are going to face next. There is a Possibility that we will get another Midgarsomr moment where that Azem Crystal; just like the mothercrystal, gets rendered Inert and useless and we get cutoff from it and cant depend on it. And then we will have to seek out a new power or way to Combat the next threat, whatever that may be.
I think you and everyone else are jumping the shark, because we just simply dont know whats next. The Expansion only JUST began...and it starts with ending the Hydalyn & Zodiark Saga.
6.1 and beyond is going to be setting up the next adventure. And right now...we simply dont know what that is yet.
Everything is speculation, until it is revealed.

Getting a lot of comments stating "Do you not understand X"

Can I remind people that this is somebodies opinion and just because you don't agree, and you are welcome to, does NOT mean its bad and needs to be chastised. I have never particularly enjoyed the whole "saviour" complex in any game, considering how many people wipe on bosses, its not accurate to actual game's design. There are so many things that could one-shot the WoL so why Square Enix chooses to flatter people's ego by making out with are the messiah and similar to this planet's version of Jesus just does not sit well with me.

I am all for constructive debate but... when you start getting into personal attacks and criticising mine and other people's intelligence for not questioning the great Square Enix... we run into a few problems.

"Hydaelyn" is not dead, the conscious part of Hydaelyn is resting but the rest of her moves on in creation magicks in the world she made. You for instance are Hydaelyn. Both you and her are the same and that's what makes you "chosen". I think the ending was perfectly fine. This isn't demi-god stuff. Consider that creation magick looks like godly things to us, but it isn't. I do like feeling like a god, that's why I play WHM and the more they add that element to the story the better. You are continuously striving to become stronger after all. Based on the esoteric values shown in the game, eventually you will become a god or be part of a god and well, I think we had a pretty good feel for that already :)

And no, I don't really care about humility.

In my opinion, I'd say the Warrior of Light's mastery over 19 different jobs plays more than an important part in being viewed as a demi-god. How many characters do you know of that have mastery over even a fraction of that many jobs at once? To be fair, when it comes to jobs, we are worse than the average person in one way. While we're very good at using a job stone, we seem pretty crap at permanently absorbing the information.
I lose my job stone and I can't even hold my gunblade anymore, meanwhile Thancred is over there combining it with techniques from his previous class, making some sort of custom Roguebreaker job. :cool:

I can't even use that Azem invocation, a spell that I supposedly invented, without taking that stone out of my pocket and staring at it for a bit. :p

Other final fantasies actually had threats for the main cast and killed them off. Final Fantasy 14 hasn’t done that since heavensward lmao.

I sort of agree. They hyped Meteion up so much, regarding absorbing the misery of so many stars, to the point that the final fight just felt comical when she spent half the fight pointlessly flailing about. I'm less bothered about the MC's power at this point, as at this point the Blessing of Light is gone and they aren't really committed to anything with the Azem crystal other than as a circumstantial tool, and more concerned about them having to surpass each previous extreme when it's already bordering on a bit too ridiculous for my liking. Hopefully they're aware of it and will take a more gradual approach for the new story.

Pretty sure the whole thing with present-Fandaniel identifying more as Amon than Hermes/ancient-Fandaniel even after he was pieced back together by the other ascians was meant to mirror our own character. You may be the reincarnation of Azem and thus have access to some of their power and share their predilection for adventure, but you're still your own person.
