I do not think so since the housing i suspect is linked to instance server, which would kick anyone out from dungeons. During stormblood the housing districts got closed due to the issues. But also kicking any active players out then adds them to the que making the que bigger..so kicking people makes the issues worse.

A server reset makes it worse, we just have to wait till its fixed and deal with ques.

+1 to server resets. At the minimum a statement from SE regarding the situation.

Ewe, whoever thinks server resets is a good idea is clearly not thinking straight. It will only lead to worse server congestion and people getting disconnected mid-play. Imagine getting disconnected near the end of praetorium. Players will stop playing entirely, I know I would. It isn't a solution and there is no solution other than wait it out for a few weeks until people have beaten EW and grew over the hype. Hiding in houses isn't how people dodge AFK, they can do it anywhere in the world and get away with it.

Yep: Imagine the 17,000 long queues and 2002's as people try to come back in.

People keep acting like queue times are the problem being dodged, but the actual problem is that the login servers are constantly crashing, which can make the queue times effectively infinite. There can't be a reasonable solution to getting people to log out until SE fixes the login servers. People really need to stop shifting the blame for the game's problems away from SE, because they're the only ones that can fix it.

Read the announcement. They fixed it and it'll be implemented on Tuesday. They wanted to do it now but it would likely cause a lot of other bugs because of the development pipeline where things are already added but other things aren't completed. Take a look at the announcement, it's insightful.

I earnestly hope a lot of people will stop AFK botting after 2002 is fixed. I've heard a very large quantity of them state the only reason they're doing it is because of the error. We'll see if that holds true.

Housing likely has lower instance priority when the world is hammered, probably part of the workaround to have more wards as well since adding more can be a tax.

Server resets is a stupid idea.

Case 1: reset them when there is high activity. Obviously a bad idea. You'll have everyone hammering the login server once it comes back up. All you're pretty much doing is shaking the player base and get a new set of people on. More people will be annoyed.
Case 2: reset them when there is low activity. Useless idea. You might get a higher percentage of AFK persons. However, how many server slots do you think that'll free up? It's even more moot if these AFK folks are the ones who get on regularly low-queue times.

Either one of these solutions would impact fewer AFK folks than they realize. Server reboots are only really good if the issue was server stability (such as resource leaks). That isn't the case here. This suggestion just makes people sound as if they are just being spiteful because they cannot get onto the servers.

I was around during SB when they were doing them daily and it was perfectly fine. They pretty much only did them in the morning to kick out the afkers so its impact on actual people playing was minimal.
