I don't like these quests honestly. I hate them, but rather than see them removed, I'd like to see them improve. My feedback for role quests is simple: allow me to button map the given abilities as I see fit on my bar.
I use muscle memory for my abilities across all my classes and the role quests, depending on which person I play with, destroys that and gives me more frustration than I'd like.
For me, and possibly others this one fix would make us enjoy them a bit more.

It's a little weird that OP was "just giving feedback" but came back to respond to everyone. Either you're just giving feedback, or you're looking for a conversation, and you don't just "give feedback" on forums, forums are for conversations. They're likely looking for everyone to agree with them, and I'm sure that a lot of people would agree that they don't like those, but not because they're difficult. -

Hm, it's funny because the lack of skill diversity is probably to make it easier to pick up. I enjoy the immersion and the feeling that your allies contribute, but I understand people's reasons. That it's enough to quit the game however just reads as a tantrum.

I'm not saying you can't dislike the roleplay quests, but are they really that bad? I have never had any issue on any of them, even when its a job I don't like playing normally. I just do what is needed to finish the content.

They recently changed it for both controller and keyboard, you can now rearrange the bars.
It still don't like these missions. I main dragoon, I have zero interest in playing one button plus occasionally two more Estinien. I immensely enjoy doing stuff together with the NPCs and has Estinien join me whenever available but not playing as them.
I get that this means easy development because instead of tuning for all jobs they only have to tune for one. I still find the detrimental to my enjoyment of the game -

It's not about rearranging. It's about not being able to check the tooltips easily.
Someone from another post pointed out that you can use the virtual mouse if you don't have a physical one, but the virtual mouse itself is extremely clunky on the controller.
I agree that SE should just stop making these quests that you play as NPCs. I feel like I'm wasting time reading some skills that I'll never ever use again in the whole game.
I want to play as my WoL, not Y'shtola or other random NPCs. -
