I think that a party search feature would do better once there are more defined jobs. The class system doesn't allow for an easy idea on what kind of player you're going to get, as most classes can tank, can DPS, can heal, etc. It would be nice, however, to at least allow for a search of players currently wanting to party, detailed by rank.
But once the new job system is up, we should have a better idea of what the party search feature should be.

I think this thread needs a bump since I have yet to see any notes from the dev team addressing this enormous issue.
This is currently the biggest issue preventing me from playing... Finding a party using the current system is a pain, and soloing is boring and takes forever to gain SP. I'd love to play with other people, but i just can't find people to play with!

There is another thread that touches base with this problem called "Seek Party Flag + /sea all command PLEASE!" The current party search system is terrible, I want to see something like what FFXI had. I would say make it better than FFXI, but everytime SE tries to make something "better" well you get the picture. >.>

The system works but absolutely noone uses it. I think I've seen 1 party in the search menu a week.

Se wasting effort on something that doesn't work, how typical . I'm tired of shouting for invite and getting none every time.

Along these lines, I always enjoyed the LFP flag that helps players know you are looking for a party. I hope along with the search tools, etc, that this is implemented. :)
