Between 19 Jun and 5 Jul 2022: The majority of the guide has been updated to cater Endwalker.
Love that your still going, thank you so much Caimie.
The legendary Caimie Tsukino!! Thanks again for shepherding aspiring crafters since forever!!
I think your guide inspired me to become an omnicrafter back in ARR (making stacks of Twinthread back when it was an endgame recipe and made from crawler cocoons?) I liked how you didn't just say "just use this macro kthxbye" and instead encouraged people to learn how to craft and think for themselves a bit.
Of course now crafting is simplified greatly - not to mention streamlined with many QoL improvements including trial synthesis, and materia are cheap and plentiful - so there's never been a better time to enjoy the fun of actually learning how to craft and coming up with your own rotations and macros rather than just using something that someone else did.
So many changes since I started doing the relic tools in shadowbringers, feels like everything I know is wrong.
Couldn't even manage 1 goo from attempts, going to have to bounce off it. Didn't expect things to be harder at 90, then it was at 80.
That should not be... So far everything seems easier at lvl 90 for me. At least that's the case for the Resplendent Tool's Expert Recipes. Back at lvl 80, I would still mess up around every 1/10 or 1/20. But at lvl 90 with Pact gear, the mess up rate was nearly 1/100. I would expect similar effect on the Skybuilders' tools as well (a.k.a. ShB relic tools).
I can take a look into it later. I believe at this point, all these Expert Recipes should be so easy that they're all macroable.
It's a pain in the neck that we could NOT do Trial Synthesis on that final step unless we have an i500 Skysung Tool in hand...
So for science's sake, I took the effort to go through this relic once more.
The first few stages can all be "skipped" using Trained Eye, so there's no need to push quality manually. But it did cost me about 2K white scrips to get the mats, and it took some time to Trained Eye everything one by one.
For the final step, as I expected, it's A LOT easier than when we were in ShB.
Back in ShB, we could NOT ignore conditions and use macros. We had to manual craft, and make use of the conditions that come at us.
Now in EW, I can completely macro the whole thing (I just needed to use a food, but I don't even need medicine!).
With my sub-optimal melds, I couldn't reach the maximum of 14618 quality, but one just needs to reach 12300 (i.e. 1230 collectability) for the maximum number of goo earned anyway. And my stats were more than enough for that.
Please see below:

As you can see, this macro rotation reaches a MINIMUM of 13814 (14618-804) quality, which means it will get you 1381 collectability, which is much more than the needed 1230.
I ran it a few times, and it's been giving me over 14000 quality (see pic below).

Here are the macros I created for this little test:
/ac "Trained Eye" <wait.3>
/ac "Veneration" <wait.2>
/ac "Groundwork" <wait.3>
/ac "Careful Synthesis" <wait.3>
/echo Relic Step 1 or 2 done! <se.6>
/ac "Muscle Memory" <wait.3>
/ac "Manipulation" <wait.2>
/ac "Veneration" <wait.2>
/ac "Waste Not II" <wait.2>
/ac "Groundwork" <wait.3>
/ac "Final Appraisal" <wait.3>
/ac "Groundwork" <wait.3>
/ac "Innovation" <wait.2>
/ac "Preparatory Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Preparatory Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Preparatory Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Preparatory Touch" <wait.3>
/echo Relic Step 3 - Part 1 done! <se.2>
/actionerror off
/ac Innovation <wait.2>
/ac "Prudent Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Prudent Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Prudent Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Trained Finesse" <wait.3>
/ac "Innovation" <wait.2>
/ac "Trained Finesse" <wait.3>
/ac "Tricks of the Trade" <wait.3>
/ac "Great Strides" <wait.2>
/ac "Byregot's Blessing" <wait.3>
/ac "Basic Synthesis" <wait.3>
/echo Relic Step 3 - Part 2 done! <se.6>
/actionerror on
*Note: The Tricks of the Trades in the last macro is to prevent a Poor condition on the Byregot. It may incur an error message, which will be suppressed by the actionerror commands. The first actionerror command suppresses all error messages. The second command reverts your setting back to normal.
I have updated the crafting guide - Ch25: Skysteel Tool Saga, with all the above information :)
It looks as if FFXIVRealm is offline again.
