It is an issue but it is also one just like botting that clearly SE will do nothing about due to their stance of no outside evidence.

So what is the point getting worked up about it? I do feel that is were many are coming from. I think myself and maybe one or two others are the only ones that do not see an issue with it overall.

Anyone remember the times when Stormblood was released and ppl sold Tank/Heal services for quick queues? ^^

Report all of them. There are people who defend this disgusting practice, probably using those services.

All you can do is to keep reporting and hope Square takes an action.

Honestly if I had time I would sell clears, and did not already have a job .I made enough buy my first car as a kid selling clears in WoW, and pay for other expenses. Work is work no need to get Salty at people selling clears, such things will always be a thing unless they start to punish the buyers with the sellers.

Like you said reporting is all you can do but the reality is nothing will come from it. Unless it has something to do with ERP. :P

Well, I doubt most of the sellers are reporting the income on their taxes.

That is also a big "if" like in the same vain of IRS going after people that work off the books. Though yeah that is a risk but if you are smart about it you can mitigate that risk.

I don't care much about the carry/sells as long as it does not pertain to RMT.

What I wish however, is that they'd remove the setting that allows players to set ilvl requirements to ridiculous unreachable thresholds.

Would also be nice if they made a recruitment/advertisement tab to unclog the other categories of these wastes of space that will never fill due to the nature of the current system.

You will never be able to stop players selling clears, its a practice thats been around forever.

I dont see the point of buying them in this game though. If you can't clear the fights yourself its a completely meaningless achievement.

At one point the line has got to be drawn. If it becomes as bad as wow, where you look and see only people selling mostly and the content becomes more of a service than players just playing. Yes I think it would be a problem. Are we at that point yet?


We need to be very careful what we ask for. I like the whole merc feels. Selling a service like a business, but I also don't want everyone to become one.

I mean, point blank:

Selling runs for in game currency is not against ToS, so the act of selling runs in itself is not against ToS.

It's the RMT and/or account sharing that's the problem.

It was way back in like 2015 where YoshiP and company said they didn't really like people getting credit for things they didn't earn, but that "mercenary work" is not breaking any rules.

You can dislike it all day long, but if you're going to report and make more work for the GMs to do, at least make sure there's an actual violation of the rules going on.
