Controversial take: Remove Gunnhildr's Blade titles from everyone and fix the exploit

Also, aren't there dummies inside of Bozja? So you can get those buffs inside of Bozja?? I can't check right now but I'm pretty sure there are, in which case there is no instance swapping involved. I haven't seen anything about people buffing up before zoning in, unless I've somehow missed that?

yep, in both Bozja and Zadnor

It's hard to imagine that it's not a massive oversight to be able to end fights that have about six minutes worth of unique mechanics before they start repeating in less then a minute, but it's still technically not an exploit as you're not doing anything that was explicitly not supposed to happen like with the Ungarmax or UCoB glitches.

It's a little disappointing that there's basically no prestige value behind the duel titles now when any random joe with enough lost actions to burn can beat them, though.

Hardly 6 minutes worth. All of the duels show you everything they have to offer by the 2-4min mark depending on the duel, then repeat their scripted cycle 2-3x before duel end around 9-10mins.

As far as prestige, that statement implies there was any in the first place. The actual difficulty of the duels was just getting into them, not the actual fights which are easier than EX trials. The prestige of the title was that someone had the patience to deal with the RNG system, not for skill. The only Bozja title that's had some actual prestige was <Delebrum Delver>.

It is a valid point that a lot more people would clear the duels if there wasn't an annoying time/RNG factor to actually getting attempts on them.

Regardless, I still miss watching people actually doing the fights as opposed to skipping them for free mettle and the mettle buff. It's also not really fair to compare a solo fight to raid content where most of the difficulty falls on everyone having to do things correctly, not just yourself. The actual difficulty of executing certain mechanics like the double Lyon tethers and Dabog puddles is comparable to what you'd deal with in some extreme/savage content.

I wouldn't be against them having more difficult solo fights in the future if they were more accessible and it's also rather poorly designed that having a duel active puts the zone's CEs on hold until it finishes.

Despite that it's bait, the sentiment more or less persists in a variety of content types in a genuine sense.

I don't care. If you want the challenge, then don't cheese it. But it's content that's more or less designed with all of these abilities in play and, eventually, people will find a way to chain them together to do something like this. Melee can kill these bosses, if they know what they're doing, almost just as fast with just smart use of actions and playing their job well.

But the duels aren't a status thing. I like to do them without the hard cheese since I find them fun to do that way, and a lot more personally satisfying to complete. At the same time I'm not insecure enough to really care if the person next to me cheesed all the duels with Flare Star. It's just the nature of the content, approach it in the way you'll derive your satisfaction from it.

There isn't really any "Super High Skill Prestige" in this game, unless there was a title for being world first on fights. Really. Anyone can pretty much achieve any accomplishment in the game, provided they have the drive to do it and the time to spare. Some achievements are more exclusive than others, since some require a lot more time to commit to getting (along with finding others with the same goal in mind).

So just do what's fun, treat the content as something that has a variety of ways to approach and figure out how you, personally, want to approach it and stop being so insecure about your own accomplishments you have to put down other people who achieved the same thing within the parameters the game provides. That doesn't just go for duels, but raid content, deep dungeon content, PvP content, etc...

I actually thought the thread would be about how Dabog bugs out if you re-raise the enrage. You know, something that's actually broken.

I still see problems on the cheese aspect of the duels.
If it's a single player game or a content you can queue in alone (BLU challenges for example), so be it.
But the actual problem is how Duels are designed and its multiplayer aspect:
-It is designed to be seen from the outside and learn how mechanics are dealt with. Except it looks like Cape Westwind.
-Since you don't see much of the duel, to prog it yourself you need to enter inside and test yourself or watch a youtube video. Considering it's hard to enter (can take 3h for an attempt), you can forget the first way.
-Resources were spent on design, creating, testing the duels. And all of that for nothing in the case of someone cheesing it.

I like Duels, they're fun and thrilling. But if SQEX notice that too many players cheese their way through it, they'll ask themselves questions about duel popularity.
If it lead us to easier to access duels and not through a weird registering system, then bless this cheese.
If it lead us to no more duels, then curse this cheese.

I'm very glad to have learned this was a thing because I've noticed I only ever seem to randomly explode even with the boss untargeted while playing on casters and now I know why.

I don't understand the exploit.
They're using dummies (of which there are some in Bozja/Zadnor anyway) to load up on buffs, with very tight timing, in order to jump into the Duel with more than the basic lost actions load out, until those buffs drop off?
That just sounds like using the tools at your disposal to me.
